Understanding the bingo demographic

As a poker player, or blackjack player - I feel like I understand my market well.

Unfortunately, when it comes to something like bingo I'm not exactly sure what players are looking for (I've heard the social aspect is big).

Are players looking for bonuses? Jackpots? Other promotions?

Or, are they looking for general verticals like deposit/withdraw methods and who has the best social aspect.

Also - what is the average player value in terms of $$$ per month if anyone could even venture a guess that would be awesome.

I don't have extensive experience with Bingo but I do know that one thing that is important to Bingo players is the chat feature.

I gather that bingo is more social and interactive than say slots, sportsbetting or poker, and having a great chat feature and chat moderators can boost a site's popularity.

Julia hit the nail on the head! The social aspect and chat features for bingo are two key areas to stress to your players.

In a nutshell, online bingo is all about the community. So, a good thing to find out from your bingo merchants can include the number of Chat Moderators, and a good thing to find out from your bingo players is who has popular Chat Moderators.

One of the main categories of bingo players are your bonus hunters, so people who are just out for free money. But, if you can combine bonuses with promos that will encourage them to deposit, you can do fine.

Seasonal and holiday promotions are popular with bingo players as well. Another thing that's popular with bingo players are stories about winners of the jackpots. Many bingo merchants will be able to provide you with this kind of content.

In terms of average player value, this will be a big range of values, and will depend on whether you're going to include bonus hunter players or not. But, the real money with bingo is with the players that stay around and deposit and play for years, so I would recommend looking at rev share if you're trying to attract these high quality players.

I think that moving from casino or poker to bingo seems like a natural process on the outside when in fact its more like logging off Pokerstars and onto myspace.

Don't underestimate the fact that bingo players want to win money. Bingo sites are by no means the only chat rooms on the net. As with anything its about striking a balance.

The impression I get of bingo is that its more like a social lottery than anything else. People really like it becasue anyone can win. I'm sure 90% realise that its a game of pure luck.

Also there is loads of free bingo money out there. If your serious then spend an hour a day playing over the next few days to give you a real feel for whats going on at the online bingo sites.
