cool blog post MJ, looking forward to your next one , hurry up !
Really nice post MJ! I along with many others have to agree that non gambling sites are much easier to run and get traffic/conversions for. Hell i even get natural REAL links from QUALITY sites with no strings attached from some, when was the last time we got any of them from another poker site? Good to hear things have gone well and you have a plan for an awesome life ahead. Also as above, nice template, wanna sell one?
Great post MJ, shows what is possible with the right work ethic! Mark
Great post MJ, I've been really impressed with your progression. Your blog post inspired me to write another one about scaling..Hope you'll like it. Keep it up.
Hey man neat post to read. There is a lot in your post that has underlying context I know, so I'm really looking forward to the next one. A few quick thoughts - The Poker Industry The last few months are the first ones I have ever told anyone that I thought they should NOT be a Poker Affiliate - The industry is being flooded with horrible brands, horrible CEO's, and horrible AM's - Diversity - I feel so lucky that spry inspired us to brandout of Gaming last year (or was it two years ago?) - You can spend a day working in a non gaming niche and make money on day two - Like you said, the return isnt as high initially, but man - 24 hours to profit is good stuff - Non Gaming - We are continuing to expand into non poker non gaming markets and I'm just amazed how much fun it is. Retire Before 35 -Hell yes man! I remember when I got my first good corp job paying 32k a year. I thought I had arrived! Money, perks, status! Funny how things change - I owed 27k in taxes alone in 2009 :| Finally, you and I have had issues before (way back) which we are past, and I think a lot of it comes from our determination and approach - We have been competitors, so ya know - A little bit of that motivated us lol - So I guess its just cool to hear some stuff from your POV - Edit - Hey I like those templates, got one for sale Also, might as well shoot us a list of non poker domains I can blow money on and never use lol
Great post MJ. Sounds like you have a solid plan. Can't wait to hear more about your history in the industry.
Nice post man, looking forward to reading your whole affiliate story and how you got to where you are now
Hey, I know what might cheer you up. 2$ Burgers and $1.50 Schlitz at the Local Tavern on Tuesday! You game!
Thanks for the comments guys, it's motivating me to get my shit right on that blog....I'm looking to get it cleaned up and actively start posting there myself again towards the middle of this month. On a side note, I love the guest blogs we've started doing around here - it's great goodwill for affiliates to share work for links. I'm genuinely considering opening up my blog to this in a big way, so if anyone is interested in writing quality and useful posts for a link back feel free. ESPECIALLY you Greg
Great posts - especially about writing reviews. I'm definitely going to use that as it's one those things that has been bugging me for a while, but has been conveniently ignored given the fact that writing reviews isn't exactly my idea of fun. It's given me the kick up the ass I needed though ...
Great articles guys as expected. I'm really enjoying the wave of guest posting at the moment. MJ, your site/blog is one I regularly check up on for new posts. I don't know if you get much feedback so I just wanted to say that I definitely find your posts interesting. Always look forward to reading new stuff if it's there on my lazy days. Keep it up.
Didn’t mean it like that man sry I called it blog because ive seen a few like it, like Randy’s, Dealer Dan’s etc. I actually follow a lot of your posts because you seem to be good at this. So I didn’t mean offense calling it a blog.
It's my fault on the image I'm guilty of slapping these posts up since I had a whirlwind of personal stuff go down the last week and didn't think it fair that John and Mike wait longer. My blog admittadly sucks and needs work, it's one of those things I'm having a hard time to find time for but kind of ashamed of at the same time since calling it "my blog" sort of speaks volumes about my work, but it really is one of my worst sites I just overextended myself on moneymakers. Asking ballers like these two to guestpost is my way of keeping it fresh and passing along some good karma which we all need more of. I will fix it up soon though. Peace.
Nice blog, in the writing reviews post there is a part to say this is what the tables should look like but it doesn't work for me it says Your browser may not support display of this image, Ive tried it in ff and explorer could you post that image here? In your rakeback section you might want to remove eurolinx and betonbet.
So far I'm making good on this. Posted 45 pages between new and existing sites, sold a site and a couple domains, and development of my new big project is rolling out plus I hired the superdesigner Eduardo to give me the stone cold nuts design in the next few days.
Hope all is well with your mum sir. Great to see motivation coming from such an event though.
I downloaded that book and also ordered the one JohnH reccomended.
That sucks about your Mom. Hopefully she gets recuperated quickly. And I know the project your talking about, I agree it has mad potential. Good luck, and as they say in our part of the country, git 'r done.
@MJ Not trying to influence you in any particular direction or anything, but "Getting Things Done" happens to be available as an audiobook: http://www.audible.com/adbl/site/products/ProductDetail.jsp?productID=BK_SANS_001043&BV_UseBVCookie=Yes :) (not an affiliate link) Just in case you need something for the drive.
Awesome advice John, I especially agree with you on the last statement. I'm going to order that book actually, I wish I had it now for my long drive to Florida. This has turned into a great thread btw.
