This is my first blog post which I have been meaning to do for a while. The reason why is because I have literally been so busy recently. I run my own offline business (Macfarlaneandle.com) which has started to take over my life.

As well as Macfarlane & Le I have been freelancing as an article writer. I have learnt a lot since I started writing and I have be learning from the best.

After playing poker for close to 5 years I decided to start the poker forum pokerisrigged.com and while maintaining it I have just commissioned a new reviews module to show up in a similar position to PAL. I have also gone about sorting out the 20 reviews I plan on adding to my site.

After that I'm planning to start up a few of smaller satellite sites. I am going to be using Wordpress and I have been toying with the right theme to use. If I’m honest I had my hopes on winning Dealer Dan's contest because I really like the Dealer theme designed by Tom but I just can’t bring myself to spend the $200 price tag on a theme. Any feedback/comments on this?

Plans for the sitex are to populate them with around 50 pages each, half strategy half reviews with 3 sites catering towards Newbie, Medium and Advance strategy articles. They will have calls to actions on each article as well as dotted around the page. The reviews will be split between the large poker rooms and the ones which are up and coming and progressive with their promotion. Then I will be experimenting with ad placement as well as differently pitched reviews running from salesly to very soft sell.

After the sites are up and running I plan to start SEOing the sites heavily. I will use the techniques I use while running Macfarlane & Le which include social networking sites/ blog links/ forum links/ yahoo answers/ wiki(hopefully)/ plus satellite blog sites being set up and run.
Anyway I hope I can hear some peoples feedback on what I am doing .

Thank you for taking the time to read,

- James Macfarlane

The time this theme saves you will pay for itself in the first day of using it! $200 is nothing for a theme like this with so many backend features perfect for us to use.

Good luck with the rest sounds ok i guess for a brummy who does Leicester seo and is from London?

Thank you for the comment! Lol I am from just north of London. I now live in Leicester however we bought a Birmingham "Virtual Address" because we wanted a nice sounding business address instead of a residential one. Very confusing I know and I wish I had invested in a Leicester address now.

I mean is this the best theme I am going to get for my money?

I would have to say YES, I got it and Tom has been great at helping with a couple of things i asked. It so easy to use it really will save you sooooo much time.

If the look of it isn't that appealing to you it's all very easy to change, although i like the simple look it has as standard. Man i sound like i'm on commission or something but i'm just really pleased I got it as soon as it came out.

Getting a properly coded theme is easily worth 200$. It will save you a lot of time and money in the long run.

You may also want to check out Thesis from DIYthemes, it doesn't have all the gambling specific stuff that Tom's themes have, but I think the share the same general design philosophy.

I am always down for articles or other services in exchange for the theme if you are strapped for cash.
