Hey PAL,

Well as many of you know, I have been a pretty regular face here at PAL since the site opened a few years ago, and have always been a pretty big believer in bringing the partnered programs I worked with over here also as sponsors.

Well as some of you might know, I sort of went silent last month and I wanted to briefly share with you, what has went on to make be quite distant, as many of you here have become more than just affiliates that I deal with, but more like close friends.

So my friends it all started on June 2nd, just after returning from The I Gaming Super Show in Prague.

The Super Show in my opinion was a huge success for the company I was employed with at that time, The new contacts we made were going to show positive growth, and the continuous growth of the site was primarilary thanks to my efforts upon arriving there.

I received a call on The 2nd Of June, from a few of my high end players, asking what had happened, which really annoyed the hell out of me.

I received an email 15 minutes later thanking me for me services and wishing me good luck at my future endeavours.

I will leave this part alone now for legal purposes!

Then on June 5th, My wife and I separated.

The difficult part about any separation is of course the fact that we have three young children, who have always and will always be my main priority in life.

When you think it can’t get any worse, I found out on June 8th, that my grandmother was in a very ill state and didn’t have too much longer to live.

We found out today that she is ready to go has no more than 48 hours left in our world, and will be joining my grandfather up in heaven, where we know she will no longer be in pain and suffering.

I decided it was necessary to take a small break from the industry during this time, hence the reason for my absence.

Now that we are over the sad part of things, I am happy to tell you that I have been in very serious talks of getting back into the industry I love and have dedicated so much time too over the last 8 years.

I class many of you as close friends, and PAL as on of my homes, and have been lucky enough to meet many of you on numerous occasions at conferences or in Vegas.

I look forward to working very closely with each of you again in the not to distant future...

I would finally like to thank everyone who has supported me over the last month as this is what this industry is all about...

I will be back to my regular self again very soon and look forward to great things ahead, with the great people here at Poker Affiliate Listings...

i cant thank you enough for all your support!

Stay Tuned Friends!

Wow Colin. Let me be the first to say how sorry I am for situation. I hope in time things get better with you and your back in action in this industry. Its obvious from all the past good things said about you from affiliates that your comeback will only help the industry.

Not sure whats the cause of your last employers letting you go - sounds like a tough situation and I understand you cannot talk about it. I did ask another affiliate a while back what the reason was as it seemed really shady on the part of that group.

It made me think twice about taking part in the Niagra Falls event since they are a major sponsor. I am leaning towards not supporting them.

    Hope things work out buddy

    Colin,

We don't know each other but I've followed your posts here. I had a similar rough patch not very long ago where I suffered business loss as well as personal loss (my Grandmother passed away from cancer last year). Things really seemed to pile on but I can say that 2010 is now looking very solid for me. The point being that as long as you keep the faith and continue to make forward progress, success WILL follow. From the sound of your post, I'm confident that you will not only survive this challenge but flourish as a result.

    Good Luck

Point being that no matter how bad life piles on the BS, those with positive attitudes will come out on top...

Hey man, you and I have been tight for a while, and like I said the other day I'm sorry to hear about all your issues. With your brain and understanding of the industry, I'm confident you will land on your feet a stronger person for it. I'm a big believer in "everything happens for a reason" and sometimes it just takes a while to know what that reason is. Regardless, I look forward to working and chatting with you again soon.

As always, give me a shout even if you just want to shoot the breeze, and let me know if you need anything.

Best wishes to you and your family as well mate!

    Hey Colin,

Thanks for posting this. I know a lot of affiliates were wondering where you went. It sounds like you have a full plate right now.

Luckily I know you have a solid foundation, a great understanding of the industry, and above all, a positive attitude. I'm sure you'll land on your feet and things will turn around soon. If there's anything you need from me, don't hesitate to reach out.

Best of luck, stay positive and remember you have lots of buddies here.

I dont know any other industry that would come and support each other the way we do and this is why i love this industry sooo much..

I cant thank you all enough for the continued support and look forward to working with each and every one of you again in the very close future!!!

As tough as it is to believe in the most challenging and/or tragic times I firmly come back to the belief each time that every adversity and challenge (no matter how difficult or tragic) comes carrying a seed of equal or greater benefit. Even when its tough to find in advanced keep on keeping on and in the end it generally makes sense. Sorry to hear about your tough times, but know you'll hang in there and wish you best of luck with your next roll in the industry.

Just wanted to update this, in a sad way be saying that my grandmother passed away this afternoon at 3.55pm.

She has gone to a better place and will always be loved and never forgotten...

She will be happy as she is reunited with my grandfather and they can now look down on us together...

She was one of the sweetest and kindest ladies i have ever known...

    Colin ,
I just found your blog tonight and I am glad to see so much support for you in PAL.Since you told me who your job interview is with I am busting at the seams to find out how it went.A great group and mega money behind them and a very old established group.
As for your previous employer I think it is shitty if players knew before you knew that they were letting you go.I can't wait to see you at the Falls or sooner!

    PAL,

my grandmother was laid to rest on Wednesday of last week in Scotland, and it was a sad but beautiful funeral service...

I would like to once again thank all my friends here at PAL for the support and kind wishes that have been given to me since the posting of this here at PAL.

Once again, i will state that this industry doesnt always get the best name around, but it is in times like this that I know that this industry is by far the best around!

We might all be competing against each other, but are always there to help each other and that is what makes this industry such a strong one!

I will hopefully have all details finalized this week with the new company I will be representing, then I will be announcing where my new home is going to be exclusively here on PAL!

I look forward to continue working closely with the many affiliates I am proud to call my close friends and at the same time look just as forward to working with many new friends at the same time!!!

Once again my heartwarmest thanks to all of you!
