This is just a quick post about how i think people should go about selling thier sites. Most of this information isn't relevant if you are selling sites that aren't generating any revenue.

Where To Sell Your Site
People are always looking for new places to list their sites for sale but in the gambling industry you really you shouldn't look any further then the popular affiliate forums, sitepoint or networking. Affiliate formums give you instant acccess to potentially hundereds of buyers. SitePoint is another good option to list poker sites but from my experience it is nearly impossible to explain the gambling industry, and expecially revshare to non poker players. Networking is also a great way to sell sites i have personally found the people who have bought my sites before are interested in my future site sales.

Making The Post
The post you make on the forums is where you are going to attract potential buyers. Use this initial post to "sell" your site, outline what is included in the sale affiliate accounts, PR and age of domain etc you should use marketing techniques here.

Outline the basic stats, some figures and also set a price you would like for the site, don't say "make me an offer" when you have only listed very basic information. You could then end with saying "PM me for more information".

"Potential"
This word is so overused with site sales and this means very little to "serious" buyers. Statements such as "this site will earn xx,xxx if you put in x amount of hours" is in my opinion worthless information. A bonus/review site has normally got just as much potential as any other review or bonus site.

Sending More Information
Have a detailed PM ready and saved to your computer. List all of the information here with screenshot stats uploaded to a domain and listed in the PM which can then be viewed by potential buyers. Send this to all of the potential buyers as soon as they show interest.

In the detailed PM you should list all of the information and be clear and concise, screenshots are important and the time spent to put them together is well worth it. Don't overlook small things buyers will want to know; monthly uniques, monthly visitors, what % of your traffic is from google, where the rest of your traffic is from, search terms and possibly further information.

Conclusion
If you aren't prepared to spend at least an hour preparing and gathering information on the site you have for sale and want a considerable amount of money for your site don't expect to be taken seriously by potential buyers.

If you are looking to sell a site and have this information ready feel free to PM me as i am always interested in buying small and large poker and casino sites.

    Thanks

    NewJabber,

Was just a general post which will hopefully save tons of time for potential buyers and get the maximum value for sellers in the future.

Remember if you don't mention or notice a $100 CPA from a month and you are hoping for 10x Monthly Revenue you are screwing yourself out of a possible $1,000!

Personally I think the idea of "Potential" is misunderstood. There is a ton of potential for some sites and it definitely should be valued in.

If you have a two word "keyword in domain" site that's only a couple pages that's been online for 10 years, just never optimized it can be worth a ton. The site may not be making anything, but it may be ranked relatively high because of age, but it has a TON of potential if easily optimized at that point and monetized.

Also potential arises more when you have a site focused on something. The potential of that site differs from person to person. If someone is getting $300 cpa at Stars and that site focuses on Stars, the potential to make good money off it increases again.

On the other hand if you have a semi active forum site, you just don't put the work in and are too lazy to run it then yes, potential goes out the window.
