After my initial blog on twitter - i just thougt I'd keep you updated with the progress of Twitter.com/ carbonpoker project....

So we have decided to run our first twitter freeroll for followers on Saturday at 14:30 server time. . When we first started the project we were just pumping a script into Twitter that was posting our bad beat jackpot in increments of 5k, with very little management and personal interaction, we had about 50 followers.
Now we have fully integrated twitter into the player admin of the poker room - so if you confirm your twitter ID and follow us, we send you a confirmation code, you enter it, we give you a freeroll entry coupon to the follower freeroll.
Well lets just say - we blew up our Twitter API due to too many messages being sent within 24 hours. ...apparently there are limits on how many messages you can send (something we overlooked as we had no reason to think we would be sending more than a thousand messages in a day!) We have run a couple of these to date and had 300 people turn up.

As a result we now have over 1300 followers at the time of writing. The proof of whether this is a good exercise will be over the coming weeks if we can turn any of these freerollers into real money cash players. Additions of leagues, leaderboards and twitter bounties will hopefully make a % of these people become further entrenched in the brand.
One thing I guess I have proved which I'm sure we all already knew - freerollers will do anything for an entry coupon!

This is great to follow man, please keep us posted. I remember when you guys just put it up with 0 followers. This is actually a great case study on how Twitter can work in our industry.
