My Dad (Doug Enke) Has Decided To Become A Baller

This is going to be somewhat of a personal post, but to me one of my most meaningful ever. The title of the post is because my Dad boughthimselfmy mom a brand new Lexus RS300.
Let me tell a quick story. I grew up up in the middle class midwest (Rockford). When I was growing up, my parents really did not have a lot of money at all. My Dad has worked for United Technologies for most of his professional career.
He is a Senior Quality Engineer there. To be honest, nobody in my family for the past 30 years has had any idea what he really does..... To this day we still really don't know. Although one time when I was a kid, he had government security clearance for a NASA project. <----------probably just got Dad fired.
Anyways, throughout my life my parents struggled financially like any other middle class family with 4 kids does. My Dad had a firm belief however that my Mom would stay home and take care of all the kids in our family. And through all the hard times my Mom did just that. I attribute much of my success to that.
But more of my success I attribute to my Dad being a hard worker and passing that trait down to myself and my brothers and sister. When I was in 7th grade I had a paper route. Similar to now days, I loved to sleep in. To this day I remember a few times when my dad would wake me up and make sure I "got to work". Often times, it was not a polite wake up either!
Thinking of my dad though, personally I can't imagine working in Corporate America for 40 years. But my dad has done it and now financially is doing better than 90% of the people in our area. No, they are not living in a mansion, nor are they balling out of control. But I am damn proud to say that he has made a great life for my Mom. My mom, who I love to death has never had to work a day in her life. And I can say that I am extremely proud and grateful of my Dad for providing this for her.
If there is anything I have learned from him, and one of the most important things in the world, it's how to be a goodfather. Throughout the years he really has been the best father in the world. I know many people can't say this, which sucks, and that's why it makes me extremely thankful that I can.
Now days, whenever I have tough business decisions to make, he is one of the first people I go to. He has seen all the bullshit and has gone through it himself at some point throughout his time.
Although I am motivated and always trying to make more money, I don't come from money. I come from a hard working midwest family. I wanted to make this post about my dad for a three reasons.
1. To say thank-you to him for all the inspiration he has given to me and the rest of our siblings over the years.
2. To point out how important it is to be a great parent, and encourage your kids to be everything they can be.
3. To make the readers realize that life is not all about money. It's about being a great family man or women.
Like I said in the beginning of this post, it would be personal. But I hope anybody reading this will take a few minutes out of our busy lives to thank the people that got us here. For me, I have my dad to thank for being such a great father. Years ago when everyone else told me I would fail on the whole internet business, my dad was always my biggest supporter. And for that I thank him.
Whether it is your dad, your mom, your best friend, your spouse, or anybody else. You should take a minute to thank the people that supported you or still are supporting you in this crazy business.
Thanks Dad!...........Don't wreck Mom's car, unless you're totally fuct.
