Poker Affiliates Work Hours = Ridiculous

Over the past several years that I have been working as a poker affiliate, I have truly tried to get on a normal schedule. In the old days it was fine to joke about "poker hours", but years later, I am believer that this is a real phenomena, and unfortunately poker affiliates just naturally fall into these hours.

I started thinking about this today after going to bed last night at 3:00 AM and getting up at 8:00 AM. There are not many other industries that at 2:00 AM in the morning you can have conversations with 4 people on skype while getting a phone call from a fellow affiliate.

I have tried explaining this to my wife so many times it's not even funny. But I can get more quality work done between 10 and 2 in the morning than I can the entire rest of the day. I guess you have to be in the biz to truly understand these crazy hours.

If I ever run for President, the first thing I am going to do is shut the entire internet down from midnight to 8:00 in the morning. This way we can all get caught up on sleep from years of late nights.

    But when you get a random check in the mail for a few hundo and just give it to them...........they don't seem to complain to much!

    I think sleep deprivation really goes hand in hand with this job. My schedule is 3 - 4 days a week where I am up till 1 or 2 than back up at 6. Other days I am to damn tired that it's impossible to write. Although my schedule is alot better than it was 6 months ago.

    This is exactly what inspired Alicia to create the "affiliate support group" on facebook - nice blog post lol.

    I generally try to squeeze in an afternoon nap, similar to some European nations afternoon siestas. This helps out with the goofy schedules we live on.
