It's that time of the year once again where PokerStars.com recognizes all the poker bloggers out there by hosting the Pokerstars Bloggers Tournament, also known as the WBCOOP.  The tournament will be taking place this Sunday December 21st at 15:00.

Running annually since 2005, this free tournament for bloggers is one of the largest displays of appreciation for the webmaster/blogger community.  Unlike most freerolls, there are a ton of great prizes given away in this event to the top 100 finishers.

First place wins a PokerStars Caribbean Adventure prize package worth $14,300, followed by an EPT package for 2nd place.  And the prizes remain juicy all the way down the line.  There is no question, Pokerstars spares no expenses when hosting this tournament each year.

Whoever thought of this WBCOOP tournament back in 2004/2005 should get a fat bonus every single year.  From a marketing standpoint, the idea and concept of the WBCOOP is shear genius.  It builds brand loyalty amongst webmasters and bloggers (as if they really need it).....but more importantly it is an SEO machine.

In order to qualify for the WBCOOP, bloggers must post a backlink to Pokerstars on their respective blogs.  Talk about great link bait, and a great way to bring new incoming links to your site.  The amount they give away in the WBCOOP is probably equivilent to what they would spend in a link buying campaign to get linked from 1000+ quality sites.
