Great blog post John. It's funny man, I often think the same thing about how in the world could anyone work a 9-5 for their entire life. But then I get the thought of, "man it would be great to only work 40 hours a week"

And yes, in Amsterdam, there is a good chance that debauchery will reach new levels.

i think the 40 hour work week is a thing of the past. All of my friends who recently graduated college are all taking jobs which require 10-12 hour days. :-( Definitely not for me unless I am working for myself.

Sweet post John. I am with you on "if you are doing something that you don’t love, then you are f@#$ed." I love what I do, and it doesn't feel like work. I can sit here for 12-16hrs at a time, day after day, wake up, and want to rush back to the PC to work out some new deals, run reports, look at stats, build traffic, or a new site. Reading your post... I'm going to have to watch Into the Wild... it sounds like me.

Great Post! I do not see how people work their lives away at a job they do not like. Find a job you love and have passion about!

It's amazing how many people you come across that will say "I hate my job" but yet stick it out for years and years.

I think the problem with 90% of the average people is that they are too afraid to take risks and get outside their comfort zone. Therefore they just stay in their dead end, crappy paying jobs because it's easier than being an entrepreneur.

Great article John. Life is so much more rewarding when you can truly say that you love your job. Working at Empire Marketing and being an affiliate, I can say this every day.

I'm looking forward to hanging out in Amsterdam too!
