I'm currently just feeling this out to see if there would be any interest. I have 250+ unused gambling domain and the infrastructure in place to develop them in bulk. Here is the general idea:

I have:

250+ domains

6-7 hosting accounts

Ability to quickly make templates and logos

A couple hundred unused articles

An existing network to link from

If I were to develop a large number of these domains I would be lacking in a few areas:

Unique IP's

A more diversified backlink profile

Articles

Other notes:

Domains - Many of the domains are old and some already have backlinks. They cover a wide spectrum of the online gambling industry and most are exact matches for particular niches (i.e. NLHoldem.org, FLHoldem.com, 3-DCasinos.com, AppleGambling.com, BettingTennis.org, RaceBetting.com, CasinoLaw.org, CasinoDictionary.org..ect)

Design - I can create logos and customize existing templates so there wouldn't be any need to hire designers or anything like that.

My JV Idea:

Let's say me and John Doe teamed up on 10-20 domains. Let's say he runs some poker strategy portals so we chose ten of my poker game related domains.

John and me would do the following:

- I would point the domains to John's servers.
- Me and John would each write 5 articles for each domain.
- Me and John would give each domain a certain number links from our existing sites.

John would receive:

- Percentage of the affiliate revenue
- Percentage of any advertising revenue
- A couple backlinks from each site to his main sites

Compared to developing the sites myself a JV like this would be ideal for many reasons. The sites would have a wider range of linking IP's and they would be hosted on a wider range of IPs. This would enable us to more effectively interlink the sites.

I already have the infrastructure in place so there really wouldn't be major expenses. I could team up with several other affiliates and develop these domains in bulk.

Like I said, I'm just feeling this out. The specifics listed above are just off of the top of my head and there are certainly other things to consider. You guys get the general concept though. Would something like this interest anyone and am I missing any major points, good or bad? Thanks

Let's face it, there is several reasons why you might be interested in buying a website. Maybe your looking to invest your portfolio or maybe you simply like to flip sites for a small profit.. A word of caution should be used on any website sale when the term "assume no revenue" is listed in the sale.

What does this exactly mean? Most of the time that comes hand to hand when a site is in a penalty or has had little seo work done to it. Remember, you can get any website ranking for a keyword with the right money spent. From a business perspective it makes very little sense to spend on a "potential" website unless it's packed with quality writing and the price is right. Sure some exceptions can be made on this, if the url is a short term popular keyword like roulette or poker for example or maybe the website has some age to it.

Let's call this, just a little tip.. Continue on your day

Most of you know I have been going through a lot of changes - Anyway, I get a lot of messages asking what I'm up too, if I'm still in gaming, etc. Also what my plans for 2012 are. So I'll see if I can update everyone.

Personal Stuff

First off, I've been dealing with my mother's health issues. She has been sick for a couple years, and nobody knew why. She's just turned 60 this month, and we found out a couple month ago she has "Lou Gehig's" aka "ALS" - No cure, some treatment, but just tough on her and everyone.

I'm the baby boy of the family, and the only one that lives close. So I've been in charge of setting up home health, Dr's appointments, etc. But overall, it's tough to watch a women who has always been on the go and active, to be tied to machines now. It is not easy to deal with for her, or for us.

As I said, I'm a big momma's boy, and it just sucks. Nobody should have to have ALS, its just a disease that pisses you off.

On the bright side, we have two boys graduating this year, one is signing with a college this week with a Baseball Scholarship, and the other with a Full Academic scholarship. We are so proud, and it just hit me that our boys will be going off to college. I'm 34, and feeling old and just worried. Of course, super proud.

Work Stuff

Since the Rakeupdate mess, I have been doing a lot of SEO/Marketing consulting for poker rooms, and large affiliates. I really love this type of work, and I recently accepted a role running the PR and Marketing side of a campaign. A State Appellate Judge is running for the State Supreme court, and this should be a fun experience.

Over the last 3 months or so, we have sold most of our websites and accounts. The last of the sales was closed last week. So we are now debt free! Which is huge for us considering when we got married, we could barley pay our rent, couldn't afford TV, etc. So nice turn around

As I said I'll be doing the campaign and continuing to take consulting jobs, and above all relax and enjoy life some.

I'm still dealing with the kids graduating, life goes pas quick. A lot of times I don't think I've been enjoying myself, and if guys like us that build businesses, sell business, etc - If we can't enjoy life some, what the fuck is the point? :)

So, I'm now planning a couple trips, and considering what new projects I want to do. In the past, all my major sites we developed slowly as I had time, and money. I never had a lot of either, so now that we are in a position to fund any project we want, I think it will be a lot of fun.

So, if you are looking for an investor/business partner, I'm opening to looking at anything.

PS - Oh I almost forgot. We all know there is a lot of shady crap that goes on in the industry. Over the years I've been in a unique position to see a lot of these shady deals and shady people. So now that nobody else can threaten to hold my money, or some other threat. I will be calling some of the people and companies out on their bullshit. So stay tuned for that. It feels nice not to owe anyone :)

I enjoy blogging here sometimes so I decided to write another small blog post before the end of the year...

This October marked 4 years for me as an affiliate from the month that I started posting on the forum (PAW or PAP back then) asking for help about putting a website live on the internet.

Time flies.

I remember getting a ton of help from Nicole (Josh's wife) putting up the ugliest website I had designed, which was just a 2 column table with links on the left and content on the right side. It was a poker site targeting my local university and I ended up getting a call from the provincial government telling me to take it down (haha!).

Since then I've probably built 100 websites (small and big) and have worked many 12 hour days on my computer (ya the days I used to be so excited for projects I wouldn't get off the computer).

Now I'm done with school and doing this full time. I've been making a comfortable yearly income for the past 2 years and recently paid the down payment of my new house with money I had been saving up (you can check out pictures of my house here).

I always knew I wanted to run some sort of business and loved being on the computer when I was growing up - but didn't know I would have something so awesome basically fall onto my lap by accident and have so many great people help me out asking for little or nothing in return.

So for that I just wanted to say Cheers and Happy Holidays to firstly Jeremy for running this awesome forum that has helped dozens of people make a living off of affiliate marketing, and then all of the PAL members who have helped me and others day in and day out. Without you guys I'm not sure where I would be today (and I'm sure many others feel the same way).

To all you new affiliates lurking the forum make sure you work your ass off, ask questions, find a mentor in exchange for sub-affiliating or links or anything, and stick around the forums. If you do business the right way and work hard you will find yourself successful down the road.

Cheers guys - enjoy your holidays!

[Reprint] Do You Want To Pay Less To Get Paid?

[Our article, as originally posted on iGB, Sept. 2011: http://www.igbaffiliate.com/blog/do-you-want-pay-less-get-paid]

It can be hard enough...

[Our article, as originally posted on iGB, Sept. 2011: http://www.igbaffiliate.com/blog/do-...less-get-paid]

It can be hard enough earning regular affiliate commission but negotiating your new income source with your bank is often a hassle.

All banks and financial institutions charge fees at some point: it's the nature of business. From opening an account to wires to overdrafts, banks love biting into affiliate commissions with transaction fees.

Other than making a lot more money with your affiliate programs, here's 4 tips from our friends at Intercash to help you keep a lot more of your hard earned affiliate payments...

1. Get a no-fee banking account
Financial institutions around the world, both local and online, are now offering free checking and savings accounts. You can deposit your commissions into these accounts by mailing the affiliate payment check you received or setting up an automated transfer.

2. Shop around
Find out what other financial institutions are charging, make the switch and deposit your affiliate commission regularly into the new account. Rates are posted on the Internet and you can save hundreds of dollars every year by comparing rates for an hour or two today.

3. Talk to your Affiliate Manager
While many affiliate programs have an online interface to manage payment settings, you may be able to contact your affiliate manager directly by phone or email. Either way, you want to set up your account keeping these key considerations in mind:

* payment frequency (weekly, monthly, etc.)
* personal payments or payments in your business name
* minimum payment amount (issued once your established minimum is reached)
* currency (you may be able to avoid inflated conversion fees with this simple tip alone)
* payment method (check, wire, electronic funds transfer, prepaid card, etc.)

4. Keep no more than two active banking cards
Whether it's a debit card, prepaid card or credit card, you should only have two of them in your wallet at most. Remember, the more cards you have, the more fees you are liable to accrue over time. You can have a daily use card (ideally from your no-fee banking account) and another card for emergencies. Neither card should charge interest or make you pay to verify your balance.

Access your commissions as soon as your affiliate manager clicks the payment button with Intercash. Their reloadable prepaid cards are personalized, work with multiple currencies and are backed by the security of MasterCard. View the four main advantages at http://bit.ly/o0AZsW.

I'm now living on Mindanao Island, a country the Australian Government warns against because of terrorists. It's not at all dangerous in the city I'm in though.

The people are friendly, girls amazing and they are a very hospitable nation. I've been having dinner with a filipino family and working at my condo or a coffee shop during the day.
I'm currently in Cagayan De Oro and will go to Davao next month and open and office and start hiring staff.
For Christmas my Sister is coming over from London and we'll go to Panglao in Bohol and then have Christmas at Boracay.

Not sure what my plans are yet for NYE, maybe Tokyo, maybe something local.

Long term plans - not sure yet, but everything is just a reasonable flight away in Asia. I'm going to Hong Kong soon to set up a company and bank account. I want to go to Thailand to do a Muay Thai Camp and maybe India for something more spiritual or Yoga oriented.

I plan to go to China at some point and hang out with Leporello - Bali is also high on my list.

If anyone is in Asia, hit me up.
So we went in and around 12 grueling hours later a beautiful baby boy was born. Here are his stats:
- 7 pounds, 10 ounces
I caved in and let Nicole name him Benjamin (I wanted James). I swear, my whole body aches for some reason. Men definitely have it worse than women.

EXCLUSIVE APCW INTERVIEW: This week J Todd travels to the Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas. In his exclusive video interview with Andre Wilsenach, the CEO of Alderney Gambling Control Commission, Mr Wilsenach clearly points the blame at Full Tilt Poker for their 'deceptive' reporting and business practices. However, this leaves many to wonder if the AGCC really believes they are free of blame in this situation, and how "regulation" will change in the evolving online gambling and poker industry.

After a year or two messing around with sports betting sites I've finally realized something that has made me a lot more money than I had been making...

Give visitors what they are looking for.

I had been running different picks/predictions type websites with hopes to draw sports bettors and then get them to sign up at a sportsbook because of a special bonus, reduced juice, etc.

After not having much success with getting RMPs I realized that people searching for predictions for sports betting events are looking for just that. They aren't looking to sign up at a sportsbook and will rarely ever convert no matter how much you push them on a certain sportsbook.

I had been putting hours per week into releasing betting picks in hopes for return visitors that I could later convert to certain sportsbooks, but was realizing that my time wasn't rewarded with $$ often.

I decided to switch to a paid model for my picks, advice, tips, etc. I still give out daily picks for free, but when I see a play I really like and see a lot of value in I give a higher rating and charge people a yearly membership fee to get those picks.

I've started with this paid model with MLB and have gone 18-3 with these big MLB plays, which is pretty incredible. Since recording all my NHL and MLB picks daily in 2011 I am up over 80 units or 80% ROI, which most bettors will be happy to pay for.

I have everything set up through Clickbank and am giving affiliates 70% for my NFL picks this season (MLB is 75%)!

If you are running a sports betting site that includes previews, picks, etc (which I know a handful of PAL members are) I highly recommend looking into sending your traffic to a website like mine that gives out paid picks. The $75 CPA from pushing paid picks is a nice change from sportsbooks that aren't converting.

The average commission for these handicapper sites is around 25 or 30% from what I've seen, but I've decided to go with a higher percentage because without the affiliate I probably wouldn't have gotten the sale (and the costs are small on my end for adding new customers).

Take a look around as their are a lot of sites out there with affiliate programs (I know Jeremy and Greg are announcing their help with one soon) but just make sure you are promoting a legit company.

If you want to find out more information about my NFL picks just in time for the season I wrote a blog post about my NFL handicapping affiliate program.
