They don't go together well.
In my second summer as a poker affiliate I am feeling what probably a lot of the more experienced poker affiliates feel during the summer - Less work, more play.
Last summer was my first summer as a poker affiliate and I actually did a pretty solid job of working. At the time I was only making around $1000 a month through affiliate income, so I had to do a lot of side jobs writing. Making anywhere from $1500-$2000 a month last year I guess I had to make sure I was working hard and getting up early everyday just to get by.
This summer I am making enough to get by without having to do much work, and find it a lot harder to work during the summer. There is always something to do - go to the beach, drink beers outside, play sports. I really need to get more disciplined and get more work done this summer so I can achieve my goals for the year. I started off getting back into the right track last week when I invested in a very nice design from Eyenod here at the forums for my new Poker Rakeback site. I also have my hotel booked for the Niagara Falls affiliate meet up which should help me with motivation, hanging out with some of the ballers from PAL.
My plan is to work really hard for the rest of this summer, hit my income goals for the year, and then maybe next year I will be able to take some time off and do some traveling and fun stuff.
What is your guys work ethic like in the summertime?
