KID Gambling Site Domains
Posted 07-04-2009 at 12:58 AM by Roger
As I develop a new network of gambling sites it's interesting to watch how the big G, Y! and Bing are treating them. Normally I wouldnt care about Bing but I actually kind of like the engine for certain things.
So far I'm monitoring about 6 domain names mostly casino sites, almost all dot com two word KID's. Some semi - developed, some partially, some not even touched since purchase date.
The ranking power of two word websites is really pretty extreme. You can put up a wordpress site, a page of content and watch it rank top 6 for what you could consider highly competitive keywords. If that domain had any index or link age to it, it's likely already ranking highly and major modification doesn't hurt.
The authority of a domain we acquired has such good ranking power I might have to do something dirty with it. So much trust going to the site it's just begging to errrr be manhandeled in the SERPS. Plus it makes so little at current state so who really cares if it gets bruised, might as well bang it out and see if it can turn into a monthly 6 figure earner.
Other sites that are in the index love to do the dance from 2-6th to oblivion. Mostly due to lack of juice but I suspect them to settle 10-20 at first then do the immediate jump to high ranking as more age and trust develops.
On a side note, I almost forgot how much it sucks building gambling sites from scratch. What a mother F&$(%ing pain in the butt. Makes you realize how lucky you are when you do have a solid revenue producing site.
But anways this post was obviously just to get some loving from G, but have a happy Fourth to those in the US.

When you build your online gambling sites do you use wordpress? or is there some other software that is better. I only know basic html so wordpress is so far the best for me. And last question do you ever sell the lay out of a site you have made?
Thanks

Kudos Roger, you made a big investment in long term brands. I wish I would ever be in a position to own exact matches like that, seems they've all been snatched up and consolidated as of late. Even finding anything for five figures anymore is just getting to be damn hard.
While I still feel like "anything can rank for anything" with obvious examples of that all over the place, it's obviously a much better strategy with what you are doing, and yes - I'm slightly jealous lol.
Good luck with the sites, I doubt you'll need it.Posted 07-04-2009 at 02:05 PM by MJ

Both small and large affiliates use wordpress. I think it's one of the best things to come along for people like you and me who have little to no web building experience which is why its all I'll be using and would like my main site to be transitioned to it.Originally Posted by Pickbets When you build your online gambling sites do you use wordpress? or is there some other software that is better. I'd never sell a layout, but I've never made one.
Mine are just designs I come up with in my head and have them sent to be coded.Posted 07-04-2009 at 05:58 PM by Roger

I've noticed the same thing with RazzPoker.net. I've only owned it for a couple months, and put up a few pages of jibberish, keyword-rich content, but it bounces from 4-7 for Razz Poker, and higher for some of the best razz keywords.
I keep wondering what it will do when I actually get time to work on it.Posted 07-06-2009 at 07:24 AM by TheDonk

This time last year, I figured it was to diversify a bit, so I ended up buying ebookreaders.net. I spent about a week finding a theme and getting some content up on the site.
I've done no link building, and there have been no regular updates. But it's already ranking about #5 in Google for the keyterm. Really need to start developing it and building links ....
It certainly goes to show that direct match domains certainly do help when it comes to getting a good spot in Google.Posted 08-03-2009 at 08:33 AM by TheShortStack
