The second round is now complete - and we can all fill in our "wallchart" and work out the fixtures for the quarter-finals and beyond.

If you don't have your wallchart handy - I'll run through the fixtures now :

Friday 2nd July :
- 4:00pm Netherlands v Brazil -- RESULT : 2-1
- 8:30pm Uruguay v Ghana -- RESULT : 1-1 (4-2 on pens)

Saturday 3rd July :
- 4:00pm Argentina v Germany -- RESULT : 0-4
- 8:30pm Paraguay v Spain -- RESULT : 0-1

(all times local South Africa, BST is -1, US ET -6, AUST +8 NZT +10)

There will then be a two day break before the semi-finals on the 6th and 7th of July, with the first two quarter-final winners meeting in the first semi-final.

Best Betting Odds For Outright Winner :
Brazil 3.50 (+250) at Paddy Power
Spain 4.00 (+300) at Eurobet
Argentina 5.75 (+475) at PinnacleSports
Germany 8.00 (+700) at Bet365
Netherlands 8.50 (+750) at Victor Chandler

-----------------

My outlook is that Spain probably have the easiest Quarter-Final matchup against Paraguay, but then may then have to beat both Argentina and Brazil in order to win the World Cup - a very tough ask.

Argentina get no favours at all with a likely run of Germany, Spain and Brazil in order to claim the title - that's also a very tough list of fixtures.

So I fancy Brazil - who should have enough to get by the Netherlands - and then will be favoured by the easiest semi-final opposition of either Uruguay or Ghana.

Brazil to win it for my money then - although all five of those listed teams have a chance. What do you think ?

I still think it's too early to predict a winner by the quarters.

for some reason i see spain faltering along the lines, but i can't help but sit on the fence. I wouldn't feel comfortable betting against even the dutch or germans.

If i was forced to decide i'd agree with you and pick brazil. They are the only team up there who have been consistently excellent, sealed off games early, score goals and have a histroy of success.

A lot of those teams have a 4-2-3-1 formation and it seems to have worked most effectively for brazil.

I don't even have the balls to write of ghana and uruguay. only 2 more games for either of them to win. hardly impossible.

Good point Addz123 , no-one said being a football psychic was easy ...

That's why the event is "must watch" television for football fans !

Its clear that for getting to the final match brazil is the team who has more probabilities, only one supposedly big opponent, and among the 5 big that are still alive, Ned is the easiest.

    I see Uruguay-Brazil and Spain-Argentina
    after that, everything can happen.

I predicted from the start Uruguay vs Holland - so I am almost perfect on my money. Uruguay should win easy and Im perfect for my results.

On the other side its a little more diffcult, but i would say Spain vs Argentina

Final match Uruguay vs Argentina!! far fetched maybe - but i am perfect so far!

LOL at predictions after the game has finished.

Brazil looked OK in the first half against the Netherlands, but started to panic after conceding twice - and deservedly down to 10 men when Melo decided to do the "stampy" thing on Robben leg.

Well done to the Dutch !!

Strange game, once again scheijder proves he is one of the best players in the world.

Having gone 2-1 up though I was shocked by how complacent dutch were after having the chance to go 3-1 a couple of times.

players like robben, kuyt and persie seem to want to take a touch more than necessary. skilful yes, but the killer instinct doesn't seem there.

    Fence is getting comfy btw.

Some great games to watch - but very hard to predict.

The game with the least quality was Uruguay v Ghana - but that had an outstanding finish ...

Just Spain v PAraguay to go now - sure Spain should win - but I'll be watching to see just how it goes ...

    Yeah should be cool...

    Uruguay vs Holland
    Spain vs German

Probably most would think Holland vs German as a final.

Would be cool to see Uruguay vs Paraguay LOL

But i will settle for Uruguay Germany if i have to.

If Holland beats Uruguay then i would want Holland to win.

If Germany wins i will not watch football ever again.

Sounds pathetic, but I don't want any new teams winning the world cup - i like being part of an elite group of nations who have won it.

That means i want either germany or uruguay to win. Really don't want spain to win because their players win enough stuff at home.

The dutch have always deserved something having got to 3 finals and lost in the past, and i like their team and characters particularly sneijder and vp. But I'd still be sour about ANOTHER team winnning it before england. Was bad enough with the french.

Incidentally germany were amazing in that game. I don't know how klose keeps doing it. Proves a fit michael owen should definately have gone to s.africa.

The dutch made the miracle after 60 great brazilian minutes. Still don't see them winning Uruguay but...

Spain vs Germany, uhhhhhhhhmmmm I am afraid Spain won't be in the final match, but hope the germans don't score soon as with ARG and ENG, this made things easier for them.
At least will be the first team playing vs Spain that won't park a plane (10 defenders) in their own goal, this is great for our play.

looks like a Uruguay vs Germany game more and more to me as time passes.

Final - Uruguay wins on Penalty kicks!!

    Uruguay deserves it anyways.
