Default US Casinos Relying on US Market

This week I emailed the casinos who are big in the US market to see which if any languages they support. I was blown away to see that they rely solely on the US market. Why on earth would they choose to do this. It doesnt make any sense at all. If ever the networks pulled from the US they would be screwed which also make me a little hesitant to rely on just properties which are focused on just US players.

btw if anyone knows of any international casinos that are great to work with both from the affilate and player perspective I am all ears.

Not an easy question to answer. You could pretty much target Rival and maybe RTG as being casinos that rely more on the US markets. Likewise there are other casinos that don't even touch English but it's probably because they know that market the best. I think in the future more Rivals will expand to Europe but there is a lot of risk involved. It isn't easy to hire talent to focus on a region such as Germany where you want German customer support and German casino and affiliate managers. English in general is a large market so I think some people will be comfortable staying in their native languages while others will be able to expand. I'd predict by end of 2009 you'll see more Rivals with focus on the EU markets and more.

I can understand that John and Vegas Tech is another english only. This floors me though, from experience working with translations it opens so many more possibilities for you.

What makes it more difficult is this. I'll use you guys as an example but your not the only one. You guys don't accept Canadian players..which is probably due to our laws in targetting Canadians while working here. If you don't accept us, and don't offer to European players and by offering I mean fully support them based on currency your targetting just one demographic area. Right now its relying only on an English speaking market, predominantly the US. I know sometimes it's easy to say well it works and it does..but what do you do when it stops working and your not ready for it.

It's not just you guys either. I would love to see a couple poker networks move into the European market such as Cake and Merge ( *cough* Brandon ). I just think the benefits far outweigh the risks in this one, and I really hope Rival makes the move this year.

    Thanks for replying
