    Default Negitive Carryovers

I am in a dilemma. Without going into to much detail, I decided to use a casino even though it has neg carryover because it is a quality program. I had a good run with them and had a whale too. Now my big player has charged back some and I am negitive thousands.

Because it is a charge back, it is doubtful I will see this player again. If it was a jackpot win that put me neg I would have a better chance to recover.

I can't blame the casino because I knew what I was getting into and that this could happen. Though of course I am unhappy with this rule. Most casinos will offer to remove the negitive amount but in doing so they also remove the player.

Now I don't know what to do. I will never remove a player. It could take me a very long time to recover. Meanwhile I have them on a good spot. I could drop or move them to a lesser spot. I'm hoping by the end of the month the player decides to reverse the chargeback.

Not sure if this happens on the poker end?

Mojo, can I ask you why "I will never remove a player." ??

In this situation, this guy has made a chargeback to the casino right? So it seems really unlikely that he will ever deposit there again, and even if he wanted to, I'm doubting the casino would let him no? I thought that if a player does a chargeback he gets blacklisted at the casino and essentially can't make any more deposits there.

If this is so, what is the harm of removing him from your account and wiping the chargeback off of your stats? This is probably what I would do unless I'm reading the situation wrong.

Erm ... just to ask the obvious newbie question, what's a "chargeback"?

a chargeback is when someone makes a deposit with the credit card, looses and then calls the credit card co and says 'this is a bs charge' (or whatever they say to their CC company) and the credit card 'charges back' the amount the player deposited. It happens in poker too.

I feel I work to hard to get players. If this was a smaller player the chargeback would be easier to make up and not a big deal. But he is a big player. I don't understand it really. He only charged back a fraction of what he deposited. It may be worked out in the future. Anything could happen. I would not lose such a big player.

I am not privvy to the reasons or details on this but yes, normally after a chargeback the player is no longer able to play.

    Dear Mojo,

I agree with Spry on this.

What is the guarantee that the player would come back after making a charge back first of all.

Secondly, what is the guarantee that he wont make a chargeback again in future if he looses big.

Keep us updated on this scenario as it for the benefit of all here to know what to do in these kind of situations, as I personally feel that big charge backs are more prevalent in the Casino industry that in Poker, so this might be a new thing for most of the PAL members here.

I would personally say that if you are allowed to wipe of the losses by removing the player here, do that.

Thousands that you would save can be used by you for getting more players, more content and what not..

BTW - What is the name of your casino site ?

    Wish you all the best.

    Regards,
    Raj

I think you should talk to your AM on this and get the clarification.

    Hi Raj,

I will definatly keep you updated. I did talk to my AM. We decided to wait until the end of the month before we did anything and see if it will come back.

Normally a chargeback would only affect that month and then is wiped out for the next month but in this case it carries over. Some affiliates won't use programs that do this so it's definately something to consider when choosing programs.

Sometimes a player will chargeback now knowing what the charge is for, operators are getting sneaky these days with their processors, so when "daisys-bridal-service.com" shows up as a charge for $500.00, players will sometimes not remember that they were told that this would show up on their CC statement instead of "xyzcasino.com".

Many operators will allow clients to re-purchase their negative balances and allow them to play again but they will keep a close watch on them (lower their deposit limits, send in documentation) to make sure they don’t get taken for.

Very good point Riyaz. The retention team will most likely try to negotiate with the player too, depending on the scenerio.
