I am promoting Euro Grand Casino through CPays. On signup, I was told that they do not use casino bonus codes. After seeing several hits on my site for "Euro Grand Bonus Codes", I decided to check and found there are several affiliates who do have bonus codes. So I contacted my AM to inquire how that is possible. She is German, so I can't quote her reply, but translate:
"Some of our top affiliates still have bonus codes and we allow them to use them, but we are not able to give any new ones to our affiliates. The problem was that the bonus code override tracking, and we had to pay out twice for one player in the past."
So I sent her an email saying that from my point of view, it does not make any sense promoting that room, because players are still being asked for a bonus code on sign-up, and then they would go searching for a bonus code, find some of the old existing codes and they would never get tracked to me. Her answer: "We check our incoming traffic, and this almost never happens. Players do not go searching for casino bonus codes, because there is no reason. In poker, it may be like that, but not for casino. Btw, you are the first affiliate who has complained about that....."
I'd like to hear your opinion on this (I told my AM that I would post about it here, a) to gauge the reaction of the affiliates, and b) to notify other affiliates about a potential problem.
My point of view about this is that it creates a strong marketing advantage for those affiliates who have bonus codes, to the point where I would expect to lose more players to other affiliates than I would get tracked to me. The AM's statement seems to be total BS. If we were talking about a poker room, it would be pretty clear. Btw, it seems that this problem is not restricted to Euro Grand.
Your opinion?
