Default New Forums and Affiliate Managers

First I want to say that I have not spoken about this subject to any aff managers that are already here at CAL. Only ones that are not here.

It is now after the CAP sudden shark attack. I won't go into that. However, it has resulted in new and old forums cropping up strongly. CAL is one of them although PAL has made it's own name in its own right. There are many others run by good people and valuable knowledge.

It could be seen as opportunistic. Yes. Let's not beat around the bush. I know for a fact that is not the intention by these new/old forums. Many are trying to merely give us a place to go, or do it right. Great intentions, please don't get me wrong.

Where does that leave Affiliate Manager?

In a quandry is the answer. Many of these forums are requesting sponsership. Just like affiliates request special deals. It is business, nothing wrong with that. But. It could be stressing our affiliate managers that are trying to please everyone and spreading themselves to thin. They simply cannot accomodate every forum and do their job too. We are asking to much.

I don't have a solution. Just putting it out there for comment from everyone here no matter what your role.

This is strictly my opinion from what I have gathered myself.

    Thank you for listening.

I think a lot of the AMs need to start making them selves available at PAL and CAL. PAL is already IMO the leading poker affiliate forum and I think CAL will follow.

    Heard That.

Aff Managers will be where affilates are. Affiliates will be where Aff Managers are.

I agree that Aff Managers will be where affiliates are, which is here at PAL and CAL.

Affiliates will be where other affiliates are. It doesn't matter if there are affiliate managers here or not, affiliates will be at CAL and PAL regardless.

Hey Ben thanks for the nice words man. There are certainly a lot of people coming over and having an impact on the affiliate landscape. The one thing I have been enjoying the most are the member blogs here. It's awesome to get an in depth, more so than a post, perspective on different marketing ideas from our members here. It really brings the community aspect out and provides me a ton of great ideas. Keep em' coming!

I must say this is time consuming to participate to the forums, but it's certainly a great experience on places such as CAL and PAL where the added value is immense not only thanks to the forum features, but as well thanks to the active members out there willing to share their experience.

This is a great thread, but some affiliate managers do read here all the time, just terms and conditions set forth by forum owners, may not allow us to participate as much as we would like. I read this "family" of forums 3 - 5 times a day to catch up. Looking good, but I wish there was the radio broadcast last week, I missed that ;-)

Nice to hear the postive stuff on CAL. It will be fun watching it grow.

Forums really are the best way to find out what's going on and all the variables. I personally like all the choices we have. I hope everyone would feel comfortable posting.

Then there is the new Affiliate Program forum being discussed that I saw an update for here:

Gambling Affiliate Programs First General Meeting in Amsterdam | Gambling911.com

Still to soon to tell but will be interesting to see what it will bring.

I only came across this forum for the first time a couple of weeks ago, thanks to a post by Greg on another forum which led me to his blog here, but it is very good.

There are a few forums I try to keep up with but it all depends on how busy my day is. It's interesting to read both the posts and the blogs - to get an insight into different aspects of the industry and sometimes just to relax for a bit and have a quick read of how other people's days are!
