Dot EU domains - Have you ever had positive experiences with them?

Hi!

This is my first CAL post (but most of you should know me from PAL).

I have one casino site and everybody I ask say they generally like it. Now, I own this domain for about two years and have developed it since September 2007, so about one and a half year.

So far, I have made exactly $200 with it (in the very beginning) but these two conversions could very well have come from the casino section on my poker site, since I use the same trackers there.

Now, it's 1.5 years that I have been struggling with the site and quite frankly, I am asking myself what the could problem be. I have recently invested some money into it and bought casino reviews - traffic has slightly risen, but it's still very low (approx 10 unique visitors per day).

I don't have massive links or so coming in, but I did a couple quality exchanges.

Could the reason for this site's failure be that it's an .eu domain? Do you have any positive experience with .eu domains? If so, I would like to heat that. Or maybe you just have a general though about .eu domains that you'll like to share?

Hi Giorgio and welcome to CAL.

I wish I had an answer for you. I've seen some .eu sites ranking high in google so I do think it has value. I would keep plugging away at it and eventually it will kick in. Perhaps pinpoint what you would like to target and concentrate on for that domain. Maybe more brands and games that Europeans are partial to.

One of the biggest affiliate success stories in affiliate marketing uses a .eu name , they are absolute dominant in their targeted area and make enormous amounts of money monthly, i am talking close to 6 figures.

Please dont ask who as i am not in a position to reveal who they are, its up to you whether you take my word for it.

So in conclusion while it is always better to have a .com if the site is targeted right the domain at the end of the day makes no difference.

You have some SEO issues that need addressed. You need to do some research for the keywords you are targeting on your homepage first of all, a quick search of the search volume tells me you need to find a couple new keywords.

Since I'm a casino noob, I dunno anything other than that. Add more content, find better keywords.
