Conferences Deals!

Do you base your high real estate banner placement on how you get along with aff managers? Did you meet someone at a conference? If a program does well for you do you disregard the aff manager? Is your program manager an azz? LOL

I have never been to a conference. Some affiliates get great deals from that. I guess I lose there. I choose to go see my son in the military as opposed to spending thousands on a conference. That is my choice along with finances.

I have seen affiliates come back from conferences with great deals. For example, I get a $10 exclusive freebie at a casino but another affiliate who went to the conference gets a $50 exclusive.

In the end, I promote who does well for me, who treats PLAYERS well and who I have the least problems with.

My high real estate banners go to my best converters.

Remember no matter how good of a deal you get, if your players dont convert you wont make any money. I figured out the ones that convert for me thru trial and error.

I have one program that gives me a higher % then others, and would love to give them a good spot, but im lucky when 1 out of 70 players converts there, then when they do its only for a few $$. So even thou there nice people , and give me an increased % , there is no way I would give them some prime real estate.

Well usually an affiliate will typically give the top real estate to the program that makes you the most but the conferences are not exactly about fighting for everyone's top spot. This business is supposed to be about trust and meeting face to face each other a chance to build some trust. So maybe you don't give away your top spot based on a single meeting but maybe you give that program a bit more exposure than someone else you haven't met yet.

I believe it's worth it for both sides.

Thank you for your thoughts John. I think that if anyone can make a conference they should. I can't wait until they come back to the USA.

I think that many affilates can't go for one reason or another - health reasons, financial or responsibilities at home. We see conference posts and people meeting up and sharing stories. We hear things like, 'I met so and so and he's a great guy'.

Nothing wrong with that! Goodness knows we need some fun and positive experiences. They have kind of been few and far between lately. It's nice to see everyone get along and have a good time. Meeting in person is a definate plus to build relationships, no argument there.

However, someone had asked me if conference goers get preferential treatment. I didn't have an answer. I did ask around and was assured that isn't the case. The same deals can be done online. I believe that. But I thought it was a fair question.

Very true Lenny. I think performance is the deciding factor with any deal on both sides.
