Creating casino content as a casino noob

To be honest, I'm a poker specialist and never played casino games other than blackjack and roulette. I've promoted casino brands for a few months now and it seems that it's still pretty lucrative here in Germany.

Do you have any suggestions on creating content as a noob? I thought about picking some slot machines and boost them on Google (works very well so far). But what am I supposed to write about simple slots?
I've no problem with poker strategy but casino strategy is a bit odd. Casino reviews aren't my favourite because it's no niche and something I don't really care myself (hate to download every casino out there).

I'd appreciate some tips on how to create some casino content without big efforts.

Hi TrickyPlay,

The content is endless. You can write about slots, video poker, blackjack, table games, craps, roulette etc. Different software has different games.

Also, software, bonuses, banking methods, progressive jackpots and lots of other stuff that comes with the different variety of casinos.

Hey Mojo,
I know that it's endless but have no experience in writing. So the question is what a noob is able to write about. If I should write about slots I can't imagine creating more than one sentence.
So what do you think is the easiest way to create valuable content?
Or if we take slots: What would you write about?

To help me brainstorm ideas I would actually play a lot of slots and let the ideas come to me. I think you will be surprised at how many content ideas you can think up from just getting involved and playing the game. Every time I think of a possible article title, I would jot it down in a notepad file. To supplement that, I would browse around other slots sites for ideas (but not copying article titles of course).

Big meaty articles are not always easy to write. An awesome tip is to write "top 10" list style articles (got that one from Randy Ray). As long as you can get a few bullet points down, you will probably find that you can expand quite a bit on each point and comfortably make a 500+ word article. They're also more fun to read.

So try and keep "top 5 something" and "top 7 of another thing" in your head. You should be able to pick out a few good content ideas that way.

My casino reviews are longer than my slots reviews. Depending on the slot is the size of the review. If you have a simple 3 reel no wild/bonus machine you can be hard pressed to make a long review. I don't bother to much. There are a variety of slots so content can be:

Reels and paylines ie: 5 reel 20 payline
Bonus rounds
Bonus free spins
Max jackpot
Max and min wagering
Slot characters, symbols, scatters, wilds and theme

Each game is themed (for example-Ladies Nite) and you can give your review that particular theme feel. ThePokerBank is correct that playing the game is the best way to be creative. You only need to d/l one micro and play in the free mode. The games are the same for all micros (except for the few exclusives). Same goes for other software. You can also pick up your screenshots.

You are right though. Some of them are certainly a challenge and it can get tedious.

What about keywords and SEO. Do you have experience with focusing on specific slots? I know that there are indeed people googeling for devils delight and such. And the traffic quality should be pretty high, I guess.

I thought i should address your post because i just started writing content for a living about 6 months ago, and i really have a good time doing it. My trick to writing slot reviews is , try to tell a little story as you write about the slot.

Example.

1st section of review - game information
write in this section, about how many pay lines, reels, wild symbols, bonus rounds, coin size, symbols [what the symbols represent, or whats the theme of the game all about] jackpot? coin jackpot amount.

2nd section, - game description of some sort. Here you can write what the slot looks like, the colors, graphics, theme, symbols, and how the wild symbols work, how the bonus round is played and any other special feature included in the slot game

3rd. recommendation, or game play. THis is were you can write if you enjoyed the game, or if you know anyone that has, or you can write about how the game played, do the bonus rounds come up often? how about the wild symbols? [if you don't play the games, check out other websites reviews, you don't copy anything, but by reading thier reviews you can get an idea if the game is liked, whats good about it, or bad.] then write in your own words, an opinion.

Keywords.
slot, slot game, casino, online casino, online slots, microgaming slots, rtg slots, bonus rounds, feature bonus round, slot reviews, slot machines...etc.

You might want to read Copywriting Tips for Online Marketing Success From Copyblogger ? Copyblogger, there are loads of great info on how to write killer copy, how to modify it for the search engines, etc. This blog has so much info and tips on copywriting that I needed to print out the articles and re-read occasionally and insert 1-2 tips all the time when I start writing my content, I just couldn't take all the tips at once.
