Default Daniel Kelly Wins WSOP Event #52, Becomes Newest Brunson 10 Member at DoylesRoom.com

One of four Brunson 10 contenders wins bracelet at World Series of Poker and becomes newest member of Doyle Brunson’s team of pros

Las Vegas, Nevada – July 4, 2010 – While the rest of the United States celebrates the 4th of July with all things red, white and blue, DoylesRoom.com player and newest pro Daniel Kelly is seeing green. The 21-year-old college student won World Series of Poker Event #52, a $25,000 buy-in tournament with a $4.5 million prize pool. Kelly has earned a WSOP bracelet, a $1.3 million first place prize, and a place on Doyle Brunson’s team of extraordinary legends-in-the-making.

“Doyle Brunson really knows how to pick them,” stated DoylesRoom.com spokesperson Julius Maxwell from the rail of the $25,000 buy-in tournament seconds after Daniel Kelly beat Shawn Buchanan for the title. Kelly’s win came early Saturday evening when his Ace/Ten beat Shawn Buchanan’s pocket Jacks on the river. “The Brunson 10 is even stronger today with the addition of Kelly and we’re excited to see what all seven members will do in the Main Event.”

Daniel Kelly has been competing with David Sands, Faraz Jaka and Michael Martin at this year’s World Series of Poker for the 7th spot on Doyle Brunson’s team of legends-in-the-making. Each player is awarded points every time they cash in a World Series of Poker event. The player with the most points at the end of the WSOP stands to become The Brunson 10’s next member.

At the start of the Become a Legend Leaderboard competition, DoylesRoom.com announced that if any player wins a WSOP bracelet, he’d instantly win a spot on The Brunson 10.

While Kelly is officially the 7th member to be added to Doyle Brunson’s team of pros, the competition is far from over. Doyle Brunson will be keeping an eye on David Sands, Faraz Jaka and Michael Martin, the three remaining players in the competition. With the Main Event yet to get underway, there’s still plenty of opportunity for the three remaining contenders to prove that they’re legends.
