    Default Poker Pwnage Query

When users click through my affiliate links to the pokerpwnage training site, there is a big FAT READ OUR REVIEW HERE for pokertrainingguide.com

I know this is someone's site at pal, and it's very nice; but I really have problems promoting an mtt training site who then directly refers people to another affiliate site to read their review so I lose the players.

I can't be the only one who is a little insulted/bemused by this.

I will be taking them down if it is losing me potential players..

Step back and think what you are demanding - you want them to remove a mutual beneficial partnership with the best training site review website out there and you have what to offer in return? Potential?

This is business - if you have something to offer them make a deal, the guys at Pwnage are a receptive bunch and one of the only sites friendly to affiliate promotion.

MJ grow up. They are a site trying to make money from affiliates. If Full Tilt Poker posted a review on their homepage to my site you would be upset.

This isn't just about me, this is about all their affiliates who are promoting them.

Ok i'm tiny compared to them. But i'm not their only affiliate. I'm not demanding anything. If they don't change i'm not promoting them - they can decide.

I'm not really capable of teaching the concept of capitalism so I'll just let you carry on. I used to take notice of this type of thing but now I just go about doing business - anytime you dominate a niche you will have a similar oppurtunity most likely.

I don't want to argue with you MJ you're too wise.

But nevertheless it's a drawback to say the least for all the other affiliates who want to promote them.

I don't see what the point of posting about this here is. If you don't like it, then don't promote them. Should be pretty simple, or ask them to make you a custom landing page that doesn't have that stuff on it. IMO this should be handled between you and them though, unless you think they did this behind your back without you knowing. Then that is what the real issue should be.

The reason I posted it here was because the pokerpwnage guys were good enough to respond to my last thread over a pokerpwnage-related question.

So figured i'd do it again and let them read it here.

i've had no problems with them they're a good team. I just think it's bad game to post a review with a direct link to antother affiliate's site, meaning i automatically lose practically all the traffic i send there.

Personally i don't see the difference between you all arguing over PokerStar's + UB's changes, and me bringing up an issue about player retention at pp.

i don't understand why pokerpwnage would do this at all. If i was a player who ended up at pokertrainingguide i myself would end up joining another training site on ptg.

The mass amount of people are not interested enough in the particular offerings of poker pwnage to choose them over a more legitimate looking sites such as cardrunners, deuces cracked, pokerVT, and then the obvious free appeal at fulltilt academy.

Basically what im saying is that this does indeed prevent other affiliates from wanting to send players to their site as well as take away potential visitor sign-ups from poker pwnage themselves by losing them to other training sites mentioned on poker training guide.

I'm guessing that most people don't try 3 or 4 training programs, maybe some, but im guessing that a majority of players, if they sign up to one at all typically choose one and stick with it.

For some reason this reminds me of that pokerlistings thread where somebody thought that it was unfair that they grew so big.

adaminsane, the majority of those who do use online poker training signup for multiple sites, it would be interesting to find out the actual number though. Pokerpwnage is a specialized site dealing mainly with MTTs. Though they do have other videos those who do visit pokerpwnage are there to get mtt training. Having visitors seeing a #1 ranking for mtt training while being compared to all the other well known sites is a good thing for them.

Either way a new site design should be in place by the beginning of summer, so it might not be there much longer anyways.
