Default Pokerstars, Making the Switch to MGR

Like most of you here, ever since pokerstars changed their CPA requirements to 250 fpp, I have seen a drastic drop in revenue earned and have decided to make the switch to MGR.

My thinking is obvious, I'd rather get paid something than nothing and by the time the player actually reaches 250 fpps, I'm betting that he'll probably keep on playing through to at least earn me $75 worth of MGR. Only time will tell if this switch was worth it or not.

Since the change, I've sent about 300 new players, 60ish have deposited and only 6 have cleared the requirements.

I know that's not a large amount but with only 10% of the players actually clearing the CPA, even if I make $5 on the other 90%, I'm betting it would be worth it.

I'll share approximate results in this thread, if it's not a violation of their T&Cs and I'd appreciate hearing from others who have decided to make the switch to MGR.

Nice one Mike, I have my finger over the trigger for this too C20% meeting CPA requirements this month is just depressing. Previously the balance for missing out on those bigger players was the higher number of CPAs, with this gone your logic is making complete sense.

A couple of things holding me back really:

    - Lack of true visibility for the deductions (at least we know the general scope now though, and understand the need to stop under the table rakeback is preventing more open-ness, it is just the size / scope of the reductions is a big unknown!)

    - Unsure what would happen with those players who have deposited and not yet met the CPA requirements... whether would I start getting MRG for their play from the switch onwards... would they be retrospectively MRGred from the start of their deposit (can always hope, eh!), or do they stay tracked for CPA with only new depositors on the MRG scheme.

Not sure if Carly comes over these days - if so a little clarification would be great.

Anyway, time might be right for me to switch too, just need to balance with some CPAs from other sources, and feel a little assured first!

CPA looks like a dead horse at all us sites now - and anyone with a paw account can see the daily emails of cut offers. Hard to operate on any type of plan anymore!

Naturally, I asked this question before making the switch. On the 12th of this month, I sent the email asking about switching to MGR. I received a response less than 24 hours later stating:

You will receive revenue share on all players who have not qualified and received CPA. So all unpaid players would be converted to revenue share.
Also, when I followed up stating that I wanted to be switched, they replied:

you will receive revenue share from April 1st onwards
So, it was backdated only to the first of the month of the request.

    Follow Up:
As of today, my backend has been adjusted but I'm not sure what I'm seeing. I just received an email stating:

This will take effect from April 1st 2010, and your commission statistics will update over the next few days to reflect this
My numbers are a little screwy, way less than would be expected for a full-month of MGR. I'm pretty sure, based on the above email, that it will take a couple of days to update.

Since there is some interest in this, I'll wait a few days and post again with an update.

Hmm, I have switched to rev share few months ago and my earnings are also below expectation.. Sadly they became one of the worst earners.

In your rev share stats, do they show gross rake plus your earnings, or just your earnings? Those numbers are probably low Mike as the stats are all for brand new players, and they're still recieving the bonus so the net rake which you're only recieving 20% of will be low.

They just show your earnings. You can work backwards to find rake after deductions (as others have mentioned, they don't list deductions).

It only shows my earnings. I'm not sure if it's fully updated or not, though.

Even if they're not going to break down deductions into bonus, points, marketing etc, they should at least display gross rake, net rake and earnings.
