    Default PKR tournaments

Hey I'm considering promoting PKR much more on my site to tournament players.

I've been doing some research and they seem to provide some of the best/most unique range of tournaments, including heads up games, Terminator Events, points tournaments, winner-takes-all and double throughs etc.

    My three questions are:

    1) Does anyone here regularly play tournaments/sngs at PKR? What's your verdict?

    2) Do you think I'd get a good play retention rate their or do you think people will stick to pokerstars?

    3) Anyone have experience and sign-up ratios for promoting PKR on their sites? (not inlcuding the PKR mini-sites)

From my experiences with PKR, it can take a bit to get going, but the players seem to usually like it and stay for a long time. I think it appeals to a certain player group that is different from a site like Pokerstars. The casino is also a nice add-on as you can make some good money with that.

I play there regularly, and pretty much only SNGs. I find that at certain hours, there traffic is really slow and you can wait 10 minutes to get a game started, even a $20 sng which isn't that expensive. During peak hours however, it's easy to get a game going at up to $50 buy-in. Higher limits, you sometimes need to be patient.

Seems like there's a lot of "regulars". I often play the same players at the higher limits. The experience itself is completely unique as you probably know. I like the 3D environment and the control I have over my PKR character. It's fun to laugh at other people. I also like the fact that you can tell when people actively look at their cards. You can use that to misslead or read opponents. This is unique to PKR as far as I know.

Missing from your list is the steps tournaments. Pretty good for HU in particular.

If that room at more traffic, it would kick so much ass.

I didn't forget, they're available at most good poker sites so i didn't consider that the biggest selling point. I think they're called "phase tournaments" at pkr anyway

Overall I'm just trying to work out whether if i promote PKR people will use it as their main room, or whether it's just one of those gimmicky side-things you play now and again (just for the sweet graphics and unique stuff etc).

I agree, the retention is very good for PKR. I have never been involved in a tourney myself

If you can get them to go play at PKR, they usually stick around for a long time.

PKR is great for hobby/social players because of the 3d interaction.
