Default Aced Affiliates is Shutting Down

    Hey Everyone,

This is not easy to write but wanted to inform everyone first that the Aced Affiliate program is shutting down. As you may have realized I have been absent from the forums for a couple months and this is due to things not going well at Aced. I received word yesterday that it is officially going to be shut down as of May 7th and there is an email going out any minute.

As many of you guys know Aced was very near to my heart and I really wanted to see it reach its full potential. Unfortunately however I will not be able to. It's been a rough couple of months...

I haven't been a part of the closure so I won't be able to answer many questions. I will try to get some answers if I can but I believe it's pretty straight forward.

For everyone that worked with me at Aced I wanted to thank you and tell you how much fun I really had working with you guys. I don't know what my future brings but I am going to take some time off for the next couple weeks.

This is the email that is going to be sent out...

    Dear Aced.com Affiliates,

The Aced.com affiliate program is being terminated on May 7 2010 pursuant to a change in control of Aced.com. As of that date all Aced.com affiliate accounts will be deactivated.

Affiliates who wish to continue to promote the Aced.com brand, along with other operators on the Merge Network, can sign up at Poker Affiliate Program - Carbon Poker Webmaster Program. Note that earnings through the Aced.com affiliate program will not be honored by or transferred to your PDC affiliate account. If you have questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us affiliates@aced.com.

    Regards,

    The Aced.com Affiliate Team

with a 6-8 week cashout time... who will be handling issues with cashouts when they arise? Maybe the poker room is staying and the aff. program is just moving?

So even programs run by Brandon can steal from affiliates, and we're given no explanations whatsoever.

A new low for the industry, IMO.

I was actually being won over by Carbon Poker too. Atil been running around like a mad man and I noticed the how we can improve link on their software.

Now It seems like someone has some serious explaining to do:

    1) There is the strong impression that PDC is owned by Carbon Poker, right? PDC Affiliates (or w/e it is called) is simply the affiliate program which Carbon poker runs. Why would Carbon (or w/e parent companies name actually is) acquire Aced and then decide not honor existing deals?

    2) If the scenario is PDC is simply the marketing arm and it is outsourced (doesn't appear this way) like separate companies - then why would this company agree to facilitate taking on a new client that was stiffing a bunch of affiliates in order to move to them.

No matter what the situation how can Carbon be trusted if there some how involved with a bunch of people here getting stiffed.

Perhaps I'm jumping the gun and we should wait for feedback from both sides. The news Carbon will not be honoring the deal is coming from Aced, and maybe we hear otherwise from them. If true though something is seriously messed up and someone has some serious explaining to do.

With Brandon having been behind this one there is a great deal of affiliates that promoted it. I can see this one getting ugly if someone don't speak up.

Brandon very sorry to hear this and I mean that a lot.

If you're going to bet US Sports online - I strongly suggest 5Dimes.com or Bookmaker.eu.

Some succeed because they are destined to, but most succeed because they are determined to.

    No offense..

But it always seems like anything with Merge's name it follows trouble.

    Good luck Brandon!

Not that anyone ever made much money there, but if Merge allows Aced to stay open as a poker site but not pay affiliates for continued player activity - I will have serious reservations about promoting any Merge site at all.

Good luck Brandon on whatever is next.

This is a tough situation and I am 100% sure that Brandon did what ever he could to try to help affiliates out in the transition.

Though as it looks from the email, I am sure his hands were tied and he most likely had no say in the matter.

I'm so glad I happened to get into online marketing for poker rather than any one of a thousand other industries. I'm honestly curious to see who/what is next.
Even if you fall on your face, you're still moving forward.
