Official Vegas Meetup Thread 6/25 - 6/27

Fellow PAL members, We have talked about it for a while, however now is the time to officially get these plans under way. So mark your calendars!!!!!! This summer over the weekend of June 25th - June 27th 2010, we will be hosting a PAL meetup in Las Vegas. If you're looking for speaker sessions, meetings, and early mornings, this meetup will not be for you!

On the other hand, if you're looking to get away from your computer and partake in a weekend of extreme fun, then please join us! This will be an informal meetup, so nothing is required or expected from PAL members who will be attending. But rest assured, we are going to work with our sponsors to set-up a few fun activities for you to participate in over the weekend. A few initial ideas are:

Normally I would title this as "The Official PAL Meetup
Itinerary". Although since this is somewhat informal, and there's no guarantees that I won't be passed out in a back room at Cheetah's, or incarcerated in the Clark County Jail by the weekend; it is always "subject to change". So use this as a guide!

 

Official Hotel

 

After speaking with many affiliates, it's clear that everyone has personal preferences for Vegas hotels based on various reasons. Likewise, the block rates we were quoted were nothing spectacular. Further to that I don't forsee anyone spending a plethora of time in their rooms.

So feel free to stay wherever you'd, we will however be meeting the first night at the Mandalay Bay, and may use that as a central meeting point. Remember, this is an informal weekend of gambling, partying, and generally just relaxing away from the internets.

We'd love to have you to join us in any of the planned events, or even plan your own with other members while we're there. Most importantly though, have fun and enjoy the weekend!

Recover In A Mandalay Bay Cabana

Nothing beats a long weekend in Las Vegas like relaxing by
the pool on Sunday or playing a little blackjack at a swim up bar. The
pool at Mandalay Bay is amongst one of the best in the city. We have
rented a private cabana and will be there all day relaxing. So whether
you're going to be shopping, gambling, or whatever on Sunday; stop out at the
pool and catch some sun and drinks with us!

There is also a $1000 NL WSOP event #47 starting on Saturday that some of you may be interested in.

Ultimately, our goal is to provide a couple different sponsored options on Saturday so that everyone has something exciting to look forward to. I imagine evening activities, dinners, clubbing, and gambling can all be organized on the fly. I'd also like to encourage everyone to invite your spouse or significant other.

We'll keep this thread stickied and make it the official spot for announcements and ideas. Likewise if any A.M.'s would like to attend and sponsor any of these activities, please shoot me an email and we'll get it sorted.

It's been long overdue for us at PAL to have an official event. I'm really looking forward to this 'Affiliate Weekend' and meeting some of the familiar faces from our community. There's going to be plenty of announcements over the next few weeks on events and planned chaos. With the WSOP taking place this is sure to be a wild weekend in Vegas.

Hey Kevin, just looking to get an idea. I don't need a headcount at this point. In a few weeks though once the Saturday activities are planned, we may need to have some sign-ups. Overall, I'd like to keep this as informal as possible. Being in the U.S. and being in Las Vegas, that really shouldn't be too hard either!

I'm open to any and all ideas from the community for the weekend. In regards to A.M.'s being there, they are welcome. I would hope they'd be willing to sponsor some costs for affiliates on some of these activities though. I'd love to get some of the AM's there that are active in the community so we can all just hang out and have fun.

I'll be representing Carbon on this one and will bring my girlfriend since its NOT a formal meet up, so you can lock in your first AM. Jeremy, shoot me a message and I will try to help out where needed. I hope a lot of PAL members that don't make it to the larger shows can attend this meet.

It would be great to put a face to some of these user names!
