I've not spent much time playing blackjack in my life and I've hit this once and had another time I just missed it playing $1 side bet at foxwoods both in the same night.

The first time I'm 21 years old sitting on a $100 (min bet) blackjack table and while I can afford it and it's in my bankroll to do, I'm just degen gambling and uncomfortable. The deal is 3 suited sevens pays $5K, three non suited pays $500. I get dealt two 7 of spades. The player acting before has soft 18 against a dealer 10. He sits things for a while and hits - I'm just glad it wasn't the 7 of spades but it was a seven and I would have won $500. Get this though he stands on 16. I hit and it was either a 3, 4, or 5. The next player hits and gets a 7. The dealer turns over a winning hand no draw and the guy next to me says Man why didn't i hit and starts pointing to my card. Totally oblivious to fact he cost me $500 not once but twice on a bad play. Funny because I bite my lip and actually let out a small laugh (I had like ivey like temperament back then when gambling and really didn't care that much about this) but it was just so funny he was freaking out about his $100 mistake when two moves he made both mistakes each cost me $500.
