Gambling PPC Advertising (Discuss)

I'm wondering does anyone have recent experience with gambling PPC advertising?. I actually did quite well with this in 2005 on adwords but I kept burning through accounts that I finally decided it wasn't worth it.

What is the policy now? Are there countries that adwords allows now, is gambling simply not allowed on their system.

Also anyone have experience with Roar? They deliver ads for some real high quality premium gambling domains that are parked. I've never tried them though.

Curious to hear about any experiences with Roar and any other sites that allow gambling PPC ads.

I have used roar before but the competition is fierce, at least one poker site i know was bidding there all the time to get the spot #1.

I stopped using them about a year ago, i decided it's better to spend the advertising budget into developing sites.

I also tried adwords but they still reject ads related to gambling, they accept the ads if you are selling a product like poker tables or chips.

Google has started allowing PPC ads for gaming terms in the last 2 months.

Since they started our biggest chunk of new depositing players is coming from PPC.

Looking over adsense this is not an option for affiliates. It is available in a select few countries ex: UK, Italy, Australia (for Betting) and several others. Deal is though you need to be a licensed gambling operator and provide those details in order to advertise for those countries.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but looks like only the gambling companies can do advertising and not affiliates.

No, that's not right. Affiliates can use adwords in the selected countries. I don't have the details to hand, but I know you can do it 'cause I do it.

Directly to the poker room with our affiliate or to a landing page? Also are you talking about poker books etc. or promoting the poker rooms?

its all bait and switch...... those who can do it reap the benefits and really don't want to share their secrets.... when i ask them i'm told "just be happy you are getting the traffic".....
