I'm new to the whole affiliate business thing. I am not picking sides of anyone in this thread or other threads related to this one. It turns my stomach being a newbie and trying to get started in in this business to find out that I may have to settle for a portion of what I am owed. Settlement? What the? I may as well just get back to grinding at the tables and keep moving up in stakes. I know I can depend on me and my work habits.
Don't get discouraged by these threads. It's part of the learning process. Shit does happen in this industry. The best advice I can give you is to minimize the screwage is promote rooms that are established over promoting new rooms. Still, this doesn't guarantee anything. Research the Bwin threads around here and you'll see.
Hi PullMyFinger,
Welcome to the poker affiliate industry! Its a lot of fun and there are great commission in this industry compared to others.
The one piece of advice I would like to share with you is to work with established, reputable programs and if you can try to have things in writing. Programs that have a good communication line via email, phone or forums are always pleasant to work with too.
As for this whole Aced issue, it all occurred well before it was taken over by us and was suppose to be resolved with prior to us taking this over, which it hadn't. All in all, I feel that we have handled this issue very professionally and is all sorted out now with the affiliates involved.
PAL is a great place to learn and communicate with other affiliates. Best of luck in the future.
