Last week the Bad Beat Jackpot was won for the first time at Playersonly Poker. Here's the press release:

‘BigNate53’ must be feeling huge after winning almost $150,000 in the bad beat jackpot last week at PlayersOnly.com Poker.

Playing at a $0.50/$1 NL hold’em table ‘BigNate53’ made a set when his pocket 7’s hit the 7c 8h 10d flop. Unfortunately (or fortunately) for him player ‘millionhands1’ had made a straight with his Jh9h. Both players got all of their chips into the pot when the turn brought the 10h putting ‘BigNate53’ back in the lead. The river was the perfect card, the 7h, giving BigNate53 quad 7’s and millionhands1 a straight flush to the Jack.

After the hand was over ‘BigNate53’ was asked what was going through his head when the chips were pushed to millionhands1:

“For a split second I was mad, but in the back of my mind I knew that quad 7’s qualified for the bad beat. So I was just wondering if I met all the other technicalities,” said BigNate53.

He didn’t have to wonder for too long as $150,000 was immediately pushed his way. Along with BigNate53 taking down $150,000, the rest of the table shared in the jackpot. The winner of the hand, ‘millionhands1’, took home $75,000 for his straight flush while the remaining 6 players at the table each won $12,000. Not bad for being front row spectators.

“Congratulations to all players who shared in the $300,000 jackpot. We’re looking to do it all over again. The bad beat has been reseeded and is already sitting at $150,000.” said Richard Stevens, a PlayersOnly spokesman.

Stephen let me know that this guy is actually one of my players. It's a neat story and, of course, I'm happy for the player. Hopefully he remembers where he signed up from in the first place and that CommissionAccount gives me some sort of mention in the press.

Does anyone remember a few years ago when Chipleader was giving away a piece of the bad beat jackpot to the affiliate who was tracked to the winner? Something like that sure would have come in handy.

He did come through an affiiate actually - he already knows, and was the first I told.

I heard that Chipleader did this. We wont be adding it to be honest, it's a great story though
