Default Doyle Brunson: "Old UB Owners Still at UB"

Pretty sure the person who posted this in NVG is a PAL member too and owned a large rakeback site that dropped Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet (UB) during the scandal and never re-added them so credit to him for the find.

    Doyle Brunson Latest Blog Post

I’ll say one thing, Daniel Negreanu is very vocal about his dislike of UB and the Cereus poker network. I think that he is right about everything that happened, but I’m not sure we should completely throw them under the bus. It seems they are trying to do the right thing now and keep things under control, but how on earth could they allow something like this breach of security? I know some of the former owners are still in the office at UB so they have to go the extra mile with their security. It is a mystery to me how poker players keep going there and that brings me to my next subject.
Doyle is referring to Daniel Negreanu Calls out Ultimate Bet UB blog post, which suprisingly made the news at even UB supporting poker news websites and blogs so good for him with links, but nice the exposure to the UB situation as well.

For Anyone wants to read it: Doyle Brunson New UB Owners Same as Old UB Owners. For anyone who doesn't read it, atleast on occasion, Doyle runs one of the best blogs in the industry and it is always worth a read.

Anyways nice to see the big names in poker are not ignoring the UB topic, and I hope others continue to speak out about it.

I'm fairly confident the UB scandal is not done with and more will be exposed in time. I heard a few rumors but will leave them as rumors at this point. Just don't say 6-12 months from now I didn't tell you so as I have a feeling something is brewing.

If you're going to bet US Sports online - I strongly suggest 5Dimes.com or Bookmaker.eu.

Stopped promoting them after the first incident and never looked back. As I said to someone yesterday who asked me about UB/AP, I said, promote them if all you care about is money, but don't do it if you care about the good of the industry.

Thanks for letting me know about sale. Removed the link I gave them in post.

I couldn't agree more with what Graham said.

Someday I'd like to write a book about how and why I love this industry so much and the impact it has had on my life.

I would never say this on 4 but I don't think Cereus ever said that they completely cleaned house. I think you could assume that the people that had no involvement wouldn't leave. Either way, it's pretty much a non-issue in my eyes.

If people are still playing on UB/AP trust me they know what went on and how it happened.

If I was in mood to argue I'd say if the average want to be a big poker player but I suck fish knew what happened on UB (not the snap shot short played down version) many of them would opt for another site resulting in the savvy ones who still do having less of a reason to play there as well. However not all that interested in arguing the points of why that shouldn't be chalked up as a resolved non issue so will just stick with general statements for now as we've done this enough before and think we can at least agree that portion of its been hashed out to death already.

either way, on point, did UB ever say that all of the owners were gone? And by the way I am not arguing with you, I just don't think that was ever a condition that they completely clean house of all the people that did nothing involving the scandals. In fact, the 4 post is misleading. Doyle didn't say Russ Hamilton and Scott Tom are still running things. I think it's well known that some of the people that front that site are partial owners.

Its a shame really because UB has always had reliable and feature rich software, not to mention allowing US players.

Doyle is just benefiting from cheap press and wouldn't of said a word hadn't he seen all the back links and exposure Negreanu's post got. Even with that said my comments were more that I enjoy that high profile people are talking even if they get self benefit from it, as I like that better than when everyone is simply ignores these topics.

I also agree with your point and don't think there is anything all that news worthy in what he said. Obviously he said it because there are many suspicious of the new owner / old owner stuff and he conveniently used that in a vague statement to get some press.
