Post Promoting Merge: Carbon or PlayersOnly

    Hey guys,

I've seen a lot of mixed review regarding Merge rooms on here, both good and bad.

I'm thinking of including a Merge room on a rev. share based site I'm developing and was hoping some of the more experienced affiliates on here could help me choose between Carbon Poker and PlayersOnly.

What I've weened from the forum so far:

Carbon - 40% rev share (best in the business), some deposit/withdrawal issues for players that are mostly resolved now, and excellent backend/player stats.

PlayersOnly - tiered rev share (may be negotiable), excellent banking with US/Canada market, and great response time from PAL focused AM (Stephen).

I know there are some here that don't promote Merge anymore, but if you had to choose between the two, which would you choose and why?

Thanks again for all you help on here.

    Aaron

    Why not promote both?

However, if you must choose between the two. At the moment I must say Playersonly. It's a all in one site and based on my players choice. They like Playersonly over carbon poker.

    Thanks kush,

I plan on promoting both about 1 year down the line.

I'm going to start with just 3 or 4 sites total: 1 Merge, 1 Cake, 1 iPoker, 1 other tbd. As we grow I'm hoping to add about 1 site every 1-2 months starting about 6 months down the line.

For now, I'm just trying to choose between Carbon and PlayersOnly.

    So far it's Carbon 0 : PlayersOnly 1.

    Thanks,

    Aaron

Stephen has been pretty good to me over at Players Only, so I would stick with better customer support any day. I think the stats reporting better at Player's Only, as well.

    Not much action here lately.

It's PlayersOnly 2 : Carbon 0. Just like the Dutch, Danish game.

Was hoping on a bit more feedback.

    Anyone else?

No offense to Carbon Poker, but Players Only all the way buddy.

The player value isn't even close.

I have registered new account on PlayerOnly to take a look... it has been set inactive and they want me to send whole a lot of documents (copy of the front and back of all credit cards, copy of your photo ID) to verify before I can even login and start playing? I understand verification when cashout, but this way they are loosing customers before they even have a chance to deposit/play...

what about the cash out fees? from what i understand carbon takes a $20 fee even if players use an electronic wallet to withdraw (unless they are on high vip levels), is it similar on playersonly?

I actually think that's a healthy approach for an online poker room and it minimizes the risk of a chargeback for the poker room and in the end the affiliate.

As for OP's question I would go with PlayersOnly even if the rev share is less. You will find that the players there are not only playing poker but they also tend to drop money in their sportsbook and racebook.
