Default Record T.V. Ratings For WSOP This Year

I was just reading a news article at onlinecasinoreports that ratings for this years wsop were up over 50%.

This is great news for all of us. Afterall, let us not forget that televised poker was one of he greatest catalysts for the growth of online poker back in the moneymaker days. And although I often hear poker affiliates saying "Everyone already has a Stars, Fulltilt or whatever account". This is not true.

More new players continue and will continue to flood into this market every day. The new searches for people looking for information about online poker will continue as well. Personally if I never saw another televised final table, I would be ok with that. LOL But let's hope the 78787378 reruns ESPN is about to do of the WSOP correlates to more RMP's for us.

Wow that's defiantly some increase. I'm with you about watching the final table. In fact I haven't watched one WSOP show yet this year.

Probably was due to the influx of work though ;P

Nice to hear that it was a success for ESPN - good for us too I'm sure.

I thought the delay was such a stupid idea and still hate it, but if it increases viewers by 50%, then I will not say one more negative word about it.

I originally didn't like the idea. But it didn't hamper the television broadcast schedule (i.e. we didn't have a huge delay between seeing everything up until the final 9 were determined and then seeing the results of that clash)

Granted their editing job could have been better. A couple of hands for headsup play was a joke to watch.

But I think it's great in terms of sponsorship dollars entering the sport more freely, as there is a larger window of time for players to be promoted before they've actually accomplished anything (well, granted the final table is an accomplishment against such a large field, but I mean winning it)
