PAL has a strong voice, let's all link to MacPoker.com and usurp this idiots rankings. We can also write negative press releases about the idiot who thinks he can trademark a mac term, I don't know just brainstorming but this guys reputation in our business should be completely finished. Don't trade links with him, don't sell him links, nothing - and anyone who feels like it should put his site under the radar and see if he isn't using a licensed image or trademark somewhere.

Anyways Mike - I'm pming you my email as I'd be glad to do anything to help, I hate bullies and thugs.

Reason for not speaking to Apple just yet is that could cause them to start demanding Dans / Mikes domains and any other domains with "Mac" in them.

I would only do that as a last resort if I lost the case / had to hand over my domains to Dan. I would then email Apple every day until they took every domain of his with "Mac" in it.

    Dan has seriously gone crazy.

I'm certainly not a trademark attorney, but I would think Apple would already be in the right in demanding these types of domains.

How is this any different that fulltilt-poker.com ?

I'd feel bad for Mike, but I'd like to see Dan take it, um, where the sun don't shine...

With that said, I'd be happy to give Mike a series of "Mac Poker" links across my sites. Fuck you, Dan!

Yes thats correct, but they are not enforcing it currently - If you bring it to their attention, theres a chance they will start enforcing it or just enforce it to all the domains in question (i.e Mikes and Dans) which they could do with almost no effort at all.

Skint is right it's definately the nuclear option - nothing good will come of contacting Apple for any party (except those without mac in domain) but I think this is going to catch their attention now regardless. Does Apple hold the trademark on "mac"? I'm guessing they have doorways in place to watch for people trying to trademark anything mac, apple related.

One time I got in trouble using the phrase "ride, sleep, repeat" on a wakeboarding website tagline from Harley who owns the trademark "eat, ride, sleep". They claimed it was similar to their trademark.

Well Dan obviously thinks he invented poker for use on a MAC. Dilussional, egotistical and obv an out and out slimeball. His compromise is beyond ridiculous.

Also, agree with everything MJ said above.

Here are 2 examples when Dan had used official Mac OS logos on his site, in #2 he even incorporated it in his own logo:

    1. Mac Online Poker - Macintosh Compatible Poker - Mac Poker Room Promotional Code
    2. Mac Poker | Online Poker for Macs and Linux | Texas Holdem Mac

He actually had the nerve to put a © symbol (#2) next to his logo! What a douchebag

I think you should also ask that the court examine Dan's financial records to see exactly what kind of "income loss" he has experienced according to his claims. He would then have to show the court exactly what he makes, where he gets it from, and where he sends it to.

    Did someone say IRS?

Nice work guys, I'm sure the court and Apple would love to see Dan using the Mac logo as part of his own "trademark".
