Default Do you think Doyle's Room will go to Cake?

Here's a question for you guys that I have been pondering all day. Most of you know the situation with Microgaming, but I heard rumors that Doyle's may go to the Cake network. Obviously this is great for Doyle's room, but will that kill all the other up and coming rooms on Cake like Cardspike and Redstar?

Personally, Doyle's left a bad taste in my mouth after leaving, then coming back and our players were gone. Nonetheless I think it would be a strong brand on Cake. I just wonder what that would do to the existing market. Thoughts?

I think they could do well on cake. It seems like there has been a big stir lately with rooms merging and what not... makes me a little uneasy. I've never really promoted Doyle's room that much which is good considering the little "leaving with our players and coming back without them" stunt they pulled.

JE, why do you think it might kill smaller rooms on the Cake Network?

I'd rather see DoylesRoom goes to the Cake network, but I can imagine Cereus paying big bucks to acquire them. The other unlikely option would be Merge Gaming, although they have the best software platform of the other networks mentioned.

Well, I don't know if it would necessarily kill the smaller rooms. I just think as an established brand (that Doyle's is) many affiliates who opt to only promote one room on each network may go that route. Either way it doesn't make a huge difference to me. If I were one of the operators on the cake network though, I'd probably be thinking to myself "Oh Great, DoylesRoom is Here"

Doyle's has a pretty robust and aged database (both players and affiliates) to promote to which definetely plays into their favor. But again, to me personally it makes no difference. I was just curious to hear your thoughts.

I hope/think Doyles will go to the merge network, that would probably be the best move for them IMO.

Most likely scenarios in my opinion:

    1. Cake Network
    2. Merge Network
    3. Absolute/AP network - would actually be a great fit if the site didn't have so many recent security lapses/issues

I think they would go sweet with the Cake network. Red Star doesn't allow US Players and is mostly russian players, so Doyles Room won't conflict with them. I don't think anyone would drop promoting Cake itself. So it really only leaves CardSpike as a big competitor. With all the problems CardSpike has been having I could see it having serious issues if Doyle's Room came over.

I really hope they don't go to Merge. I hate the network so far. My conversions are so bad and players value really low there. I've only been around for like 9 months, but I'm totally not impressed so far.

Me and Aidan discussed this previous so a lot of what he said is what I said to him initially.

As much as I hate to say it I think AP/UB is the best fit for Doyles Room, I'd never promote them again, but I could understand the move for certain and would imagine some big money would be involved or very favorable terms for their room. I wonder if Cake or Merge could match these terms.

It will be interesting to see what happens. This is one of the few industry news stories that I've been anxious to see the results of in a long time.

My vote is for Cake. I already have too many Merge rooms in my listings.
I pray they avoid Cereus, for all the obvious reasons.

I dont think it would make any significant difference to the Merge group until Merge starts changing their program. Right now the site caters to low limit players, and as I was mentioning to someone else the other day they need to chop those freerolls and starting investing that cash into grabbing some attention from serious players. They need to fix the problems within before bringing more people on board. No matter how many skins they add its not going to make that big of a difference...for the most part I think the already existing player base just swaps around between the different rooms. I would like to see a big name there, at this point I just dont think it would do anything.

For Cake my thought are like Jeremy. If Doyles goes to Cake it will kill the other rooms, not only from an affiliate perspective but from players to.

Would you rather hear a name that most people don't associate with anything ie the name of the room before you signup or would you rather here endorsed by Doyle Brunson. Players know who he is and I think by having his face on the label it would add that much more credibility in an area where the other rooms can't compete. Because of that reason, if they did move, as an affiliate I would be that much more inclined to push Doyle's on the Cake network than anyone else, including Cake.

As much as I hate to say it I think AP/UB is the best fit for Doyles Room, I'd never promote them again, but I could understand the move for certain and would imagine some big money would be involved or very favorable terms for their room.
I think that would be the biggest mistake they could possibly make.
