    Default Biggest Casino Affiliate Swings

For those of you guys that are casino affiliates, what are some of the biggest swings you guys have seen? I know when I promoted ParadisePoker I had a guy win $30K+ in a Sunday major and then give most of it back at the BJ table.

I felt like I won that lottery that month. I'm sure Stephen remembers that!

Anyhow, share your stories about the massive casino affiliate swings you guys probably see. I'm almost scared to dive back into the casino market head first just because of the swings.

Last June I had a player at Prime Casino win over $40k. Unfortunately Prime carries forward negative balances.... I'm still in the red there, and I probably will be for a very long time.

I stopped sending traffic as soon as it happened, but still... it sucks.

I've seen a player win $100K in November and then proceed to lose DOUBLE that in the following 2-3 months. That's the biggest amount I've noticed.

Yesterday I saw a player make several small deposits of $300, then hit it big on Roulette to be over $30K up, but this player kept going and lost everything by days end. So from $30K+ to $3K- in about 90 minutes .. and all on Roulette.

It appears to me that if a player wins big early, then they get a gambling frenzy, and increase stakes. Once they drop behind their BIG WIN total it's as if they cannot stop until they've regained that level - or blown the lot.

I'm sure there are some gambling studies that have shown an early big win is very addictive to players - it seems like easy money - and players try to recreate that early buzz.

That is just so sick to think about.....I don't think I would be able to sleep for days.

That is sooo true, I like Roulette too myself (slots are a bit monotone for me), and when I was testing one of the casino I promote, I won $300 from $25, and in one hour I turned around $4000 in Roulette, it was scary that I wanted to make more, more, more, but of course I lost almost all the winnings and managed to stop around $50 so I made a little profit, but the temptation that I won big and why I couldn't win more was huge

We've been casino affiliates for longer than we've been poker affiliates, so we've had some pretty sick swings over that time (6 years).

Our biggest swing - some person ran up winnings of over $250k in like 2 days, and then proceeded to lose it all back, and then some.

We had a 40% rev share deal with this room, so that was pretty interesting.

This person didn't withdraw a dime, and they lost the money just as quickly as they had won it. I really couldn't believe it..

biggest we've seen is a dude who dropped like $100k at bodog i the span of a week. that was a nice paycheck... he only did it once, too. The interesting thing was I was pretty sure I knew who it was (it was a guy who played live poker with us). I was like dayum... that's one you just didn't bring up in conversation. "So, you lost 100k at bodog eh?"

Pretty impressive earnings there. I have a question:

Say you have a guy that deposits 10k and wins 200k. He then doesn't play for a while and proceeds to lose that the next months. Now you are paid 80k in commission for a guy that only deposited 10k.

Does the casino just take the loss? Or is there something I'm not thinking about where they get their money back?

If the program doesn't carry over negative balances, then yes, they just take the loss and you earn a percentage of the 200k. This has happened to me a few times, although the amount was nowhere near 200k.

If the program carries forward negative balances, then you're out of luck.

Some programs have a special clause where only that one winner's negative balance is carried forward until it's gone (if the win is larger than $10k or something, for example). That way you can continue to earn from the other players you referred in the past; you aren't totally screwed like you would be with a typical, blanket negative carryover policy.

We had a guy win $140K on a progressive slot, right at the end of the month. He lost it all back except for about $20K in the first two weeks of the next month, and it was looking to be a banner month, untill....he went on a tear again, only to get it all back, PLUS about $90K more.

Basically, he deposited $50, and cashed out $230K.

Unfortunately, he was from the US and the next week they stopped taking US players. He was forced to cash it out.
