Default Need advice for migrating future poker players

    Hey guys,

I am not satisfied at all with my fulltilt stats lately and I would like to start moving my traffic to another poker site that doesn't screw affiliates after years of promoting them.

I got deducted almost $2K this month and a friend of mine who introduced me to the poker affiliate business got deducted +$8K last time we chatted, so i decided to try something new. I'm also affiliate for a few other sites and with just a few conversions i make almost the same as my fulltilt sites and the difference in traffic is huge.

The problem is i have sites setup just for fulltilt, like review sites, bonus sites, etc with content targeting fulltilt only. I don't want to drop the sites nor sell them here, what i would like to try is send the players to another site and see how well they convert.

I sometimes think that if i park my sites at fabulous i would be making much more getting paid by click than what fulltilt pays me per conversion.

Based on your experience which (new or not so new) poker site do you think has growing potential, provides decent affiliate revenue and good affiliate relationship?

(PS: Based on the comments i read on this forum pokerstars is not an option)

    Thanks in advance

I asked myself this question and can not find a solution. If Party Poker would accept US players this would be the best choice to send traffic, but how do you sell a customer a Porsche when he is looking for the cheapest Nissan?
Alright it is possible, but you will surely loose some sales.

I tried it a couple of weeks ago advertising a relatively new poker site (not partypoker) and the click rate was around 10%. Long story short, i think i selected the wrong poker site to send my visitors to.

I've been checking pokerscout and noted a few new poker sites that accept US players, i could try them one by one but it would take so long, instead i would be willing to know if anyone has tried some of them and which one(s) are worth to advertise.

If the site is good in terms of revenue, affiliate support, i will definitely replace all my banners on my generic poker sites that don't target fulltilt only.

    Hey Opoker

Different sites convert better for different rooms. I'd really suggest the following:
    • Go through this forum (and other posters here in this topic) and grab a few rooms you think are worthwhile
    • Test 3-4 of them to see which fits your site best. check clicks, conversions and long term player values....

I know that Sportsbook and PO Poker converts great on some sites, but there are others who dont agree. There will always be someone who suits your readers.

Although it is a very small network, you can have a look at Play free online poker - Truepoker.com.

The site has been around for 10+ years.

They have recently redesigned their landing page and poker lobby.

The manager Jamie Harvey is also awsome to work with, and very helpfull. Im sure you can get a good special deal if you can send them players.

I would love to see this network grow as there are so few US friendly alternatives.

I cant wait till Party opens their doors for the US again.

Mini sites built around room name terms don't convert very well when you attempt to drive the traffic elsewhere. What you make with Full Tilt is going to be more than driving the traffic elsewhere. People are searching for that room, and find your site. They have largely already made their mind to deposit to Full Tilt, and only a very small percentage of them can be sold on a different room. That's the risk you take when you build sites around a brand name, you are stuck promoting them for better or for worse. Any money that you are making from them is likely gift money, and my Mom always told me not to look a gift horse in the mouth.
