    Default Blackjack and Roulette

    Morning people,

Having gone on a bit of a spending spree, I've picked up a few good domains including domains relating to roulette and blackjack.

I don't really have a whole lot of experience promoting either of these two games, so I was hoping for a bit of feedback from those of you might be promoting in these niches at the moment.

    - What sort of things are players looking for?
    - Which casinos would you recommend working with?
    - Is one particular niche a lot more valuable than the other?
    - What sort of content can be added to the site? I guess it's possible to have a strategy when playing Blackjack, but rather less so when playing Roulette ...

I guess just hearing your thoughts on either of the two areas would be really useful ...

I know from experience with some of our Blackjack affiliates that players are definitely looking for strategy items with BJ. They want to see the Blackjack perfect strategy cards and what move you should make with each hand dealt.

Obviously you should have the rules of the game listed and the different ways to bet. Doubling Down, splitting pairs, hitting, standing, etc.

Also, having a way to play for free on your site would be a great way to stand out and get them used to playing.

The more advanced Blackjack readers will also look to basic card counting advice and tips.

    Best of luck.

    Mark

Thanks Mark - which niche do you think is more valuable?

I would imagine Roulette? Blackjack is bigger but more saturated, and Roulette has a better house edge.

The blackjack niche is far from "saturated". There are probably less than 10 blackjack sites out there which get any reasonable amount of traffic. Blackjack is so much less competitive than poker it's not even in the same league.

Roulette is less competitive, but the query space is significantly smaller too. There's only so much content you can generate about roulette.

from some of the other casino posts in here... looks like blackjack is probably not the best niche to target as the casino edge is so small that the traffic that you do send doesn't make you that much compared to other casino niches. (read the casino q&a with john from thisisvegas) I think you could get a roulette site ranking and driving conversions quicker than blackjack but that is just my guess.

Blackjack is definately the one to go for if you're building a whole site around one of the games.

As mentioned before players are looking for strategy, the various rules and the strategies that go with them, etc.

What I like most about blackjack over roulette is that there are lots of variants available to play - pontoon, single hand, multi-hand, Atlantic City rules, Single Deck, Blackjack Switch, etc.... all found in various online casinos.

Whether roulette has more or less value - I'm not sure, but with more to write about, you have more targetted pages to catch more players so I'm with Blackjack all the way.

ok, time to put my foot in my mouth. Blackjack can treat you well just you have to know what you are getting into. The content is different but once you have all the strategy tables produced, which are nearly the same everywhere else, then you are almost limited in content. However I agree that blackjack still isn't completely saturated but it would make money for you. The only differences are finding casino sites that offer blackjack as a bonus eligible game for the signup bonus. Most don't do this because of bonus abuse/bonus whores. Personally I have seen the content out there like wizardofodds and blackjackinfo.com and I don't know how you top that or go around it. It's possible but I would check out who ranks well for blackjack.

On a side note since this is primarily a poker community, I think blackjack and table games probably have a better cross-over potential for poker being they are games where the player has control and can use their skill. I don't know if I would take this route if I were to start promoting casinos but it definitely is possible, probably less competition here but might take more volume to make it worth it since blackjack perfect strategy yields a return of 99% to 99.5% where slots averages around 96%.

It's great having Randy here to shed some insight on the casino niche/search volume questions. I know the big money terms have to be slots related but has anyone done mini sites for the various video poker games? Some people are really into certain games like Jacks or Better or even Deuces Wild.
