Default Shouldnt a program tell you when their bonus codes do not override cookies?

Signed up with a program (Red Kings) lately, and they gave me a nice deal, good bonus scheme and yes, we do have bonus codes blah blah blah (I told them my site was targetting bonus codes). As usual, I create a test account, use my own code, no show in reports.
Email sent, the first response is "we have no idea what's wrong". Another test account, same problem. They ask "did you clear your cookies" - yes I did, but btw, shouldnt the bonus code take care of that? "Oh, our bonus codes are just for offline marketing, no cookie override".
Is it really asking too much if I expect them to give me that type of information from the start, so that the affiliate knows how he is going to promote them?
Btw I really appreciate the fact that this typ of info is displayed here at PAL for each room.

I usually ask first. It seems like most rooms have 2 codes these days so it can be pretty confusing. I still haven't figured some rooms out even though its been explained to me a couple times, like Cake Poker. I get that the signup code tracks players and the bonus code doesn't but I see people using their signup code as a bonus code too so thats where I get all mixed up. Does that have to be setup or is your signup code automatically your bonus code? If a player only enters the signup code will they get a bonus? See, my head is spinning already lol.

Man, I just assumed custom codes would override cookies.

I'd really like to see some kind of master list on which rooms do what.
