PAL Directory - Ideas?

Hey guys, we are installing a PAL directory for affiliates to list their portals. In this directory affiliates will be able to submit their sites, however each listing will need to be manually approved by a mod or admin here. Once listed, the portals in the directory can be rated and even commented on.

Kaus is our expert in this and will more than likely be making the final decisions.

Obviously we don't want a directory as difficult as DMOZ to get your sites into, however at the same time, we want to maintain the integrity of the directory itself by having specific guidelines for inclusion.

Please share your thoughts on what you feel some of these guidelines should be, as well as any other thoughts you have regarding the PAL Directory. I have meetings in Chicago today, but we will get this up tonight for you to start experimenting with.

If it makes your eyes bleed, it doesn't belong there

If it's a banner farm or a link farm, it doesn't belong there

If it has no original content, it doesn't belong there

If it's one of my sites, it belongs at the top of the page

It would be nice to see a site title, a thumbnail, and a description - with possibly one incontent link in it? please?

Very nice idea Jeremy. here is some guidelines.

1. Sites may not contain illegal contents as well as contents that may harm people.
2. Sites may not be duplicate.
3. Submit your website to the most appropriate category.
4. We will reject sites that is under construction.
5. No redirecting domain.
6. We reserve rights to accept/reject/move/delete any listing without prior notification.
7. Sites with popups will not be accepted.
8. Sites containing any sort of virus will not be accepted
9. Write good quality description. Submission that contain errors, bad grammar, or similar will delay approval.
10. Avoid inappropriate CAPITALIZATI0N of words.

Here is the beta version. We will probably have categories for poker, casino, bingo, and sports affiliate programs and portals.

Again, this is still in beta and not technically live, so keep that in mind. But here is the link to the directory so you can see, tear apart, make suggestions, and review.

I like this idea a lot Jeremy. Thanks for continuing to make PAL the best gambling affiliate portal online today.

Is there a way to make contact information available so we can contact other affiliates who have sites similar to ours for direct link exchanges? This way it is easy to find link partners with similar content, which search engines enjoy right?

A "request link exchange" function that sends a PM or e-mail to site contact would be nice.

Just above the newset 5 links, it says "Categories: 4, Links: 16, Posts: 1, Total Views 34". What are the 4 categories? I am only seeing two (affiliate programs + poker websites).

Perhaps "Categories: 4" should be clickable?


I suppose you could stick a PR info for each site, as some people care about that.
