    Default Help needed with conversions

I wanted to get some feedback on what sort of conversion rate is average.

I've been getting a lot of people finding my site with some really good keywords: most based around terms like "pokerroom bonus" or something similar ... which has got to be as close to a guaranteed sign up as you can get - but I'm not really seeing very many, which I don't quite understand. I'm not suggesting that everyone who comes through on those terms will sign up with a room, but I'd have thought that maybe half of them would.

I'm getting a fair few clicks, so I've got a couple of quick questions:

    1. Is there any way to set up analytics to show which keywords are generating the clicks (all of my affiliate links are located in one directory)

    2. If anyone has a spare few minutes, would you mind having a look through the review/bonus pages on bestpokerbonus.co.uk and let me know what you think? The lack of conversion may well have something to do with the way I've written content, so if anyone has any suggestions on how I could improve it, I'd definitely be all ears.

I might be getting frustrated over nothing, but I thought I'd get some feedback.

Thanks loads for your help in advance ...

That's a great domain you have

Now for the content, i would suggest to change your text. You brag about yourself a lot using the "we do this we do that". Don't get me wrong, there' nothing bad to be proud about what you're doing; but for communication to your visitors you should rather speak in terms such "You my dear visitor will find here..."

It migth be temporary but when i click on your hollywood review button on your "best value bonuses" category it redirects me to
    xxxhttp://urlseek20.vmn.net/search.php?q=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bestpokerbonus.co.uk %2Fbonus%2Fhollywood-poker%2F&tbn=vendio&type=404&lg=en
That's definitely something which will turn your visitors away

Also i am not sure what are "best value poker bonuses"?

The review page is also the same regardless of the categories you have of your left navigation (best poker bonuses, bonuses that clear the most rapidly). I believe you should adapt the page to display the most relevant info depending on what your visitor is looking for. ie. your room review coming from most easily cleared bonuses should emphasize on how fast the bonus is actually clearing.

    Just my two cents here...

You can use this plugin to easily check your site for dead links:
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/532

If you are looking to try new things, I have been toying with the idea of making an interactive guide where people can get a bonus selected for them.

Like something where they have to give you some information about what stakes and games they play, how much and whether or not they want US rooms or not. After that they then get a selection of 2-3 bonuses ranked for relevancy with some basic information about the rooms/bonuses and links to the reviews and to the sites.

I can tell you one immediate problem - if some one is searching for a "bonus" - often they just want the code and coudln't give a fat rats about the site review.

You bonus/marketing codes should be obvious and available on the home page - I'd try and put them up instead of your "Go"

On your review pages the actual bonus code blends in too much - i actually have to look for it to find it - it should jump of the page

And I know all the studies say top and left is most read area, but I personally don't believe that anymore and I think people expect your "top sites" "top bonuses" to be on the right not the left.

First of all huge thanks for the feedback.

I've made a few changes based on what you said. Basically, the review buttons on the homepage have now been replaced with bonus codes.

PHP's being a pain for some reason and not letting me insert text for those rooms that don't have codes, but I'll keep working on that.

The review links now work, and I'll definitely have a look into building some kind of a WP plugin that will let people search for the most relevant bonus to them.

As for the phrase "Best Value Bonuses", perhaps there's a better way of saying "A list of bonuses that give you the biggest percentage bonus based on your initial investment."

I'm just not quite sure what it is yet, but I will keep thinking ...

did it take anyone else a long time to load? took me like 8 seconds... forever in the interwebz.

on Review of Full Tilt poker and bonus code information | Best Poker Bonus

    just my opinion

how about making the actual code in the red/bold combo and the amount and % in gray.

I like the logo, but dump the two green buttons. Replace with simple text link.

Start your content focusing on the bonus and how to earn it, how to clear it, and how it compares with others. I think your users will appreciate honest comparison and easy explanations on how to earn said bonuses. I think you would do well to interlink your reviews with one another better. If there is something negative about earning a bonus, say that and recommend an alternative.

finally, i've told you this in pm also but your righthand sidebar on the main page, the 'news by room' puts me to sleep. That is ideal space for bonus related articles .

Yeah, I know you're right ... and I've removed them from all the inner pages. The only reason that I've left it on the homepage is because I reckon it will be good for SEO. It's the only part of the site that I can update regularly, add pages to the site and generally rank for long tail keywords ... and those links on the home page are currently the only links to those pages, so if I take them down then Google won't find them.

Does that sound right? Or am I putting too much emphasis on the additional content?

theres no problem with keeping it on the sidebar, just put in another field above it with links to static content you create specifically for bonuses and information designed to show your traffic the most relevant information to them that might peak their interest. I have to doubt that hardly any of your traffic is looking for news about those rooms you have there.

I'm not trying to sound harsh, just saying... match what your traffic is looking for as best as possible with your high value website real-estate (above the fold especially).
