    Default Google cold calling...

I get a lot of cold callers as i have got a couple of land based companies, i normally get anything from SEO companies to private health care.

Anyway i get a phone calling asking for me directly (first and last name), i always ask who is speaking and from where, she replied its Anne Smith (made up name) from google. I get a few PPC companies claim they are "working for google and yahoo" yet they only sell PPC. So i asked her who she really works for, she then says i work google. I would like to speak to my first and last name.... (i gulp).... i said how may i help you? they was inviting me to a webinar (which i cant get to today) on the release of the chrome netbook and how it can improve uk businesses.

I am amazed that google is cold calling companies for business.

What are your thoughts on this?

Pretty standard for Google, I don't think the cold calling is new.

Chromebook looks cool, wish it was already released in AU.

Chances are google already knows more about you than most governments do . With The current US admin working closely with google for the last couple years. nothing would surprise me.

Anyway, I've gotten a few calls from google over the last couple years, pretty normal especially if you do a lot of PPC or if you have had an old account with them doing beta testing on various products, developer tools, etc
