ok defraggler seems nice but those other programs messed up my registry keys. I wake up not being able to open word, excel, photoshop etc etc and this day has officially been baptized to re-install Tuesday.

Reinstall is always good. Adding more RAM helps too.

Super anti spyware and Malware bytes are good scanners to run. The AVG PC tuneup also does an ok job of identifying clutter.

Save all files ------>Restore to factory settings. If that doesn't work ------>Buy new computer.

You should take a look at safer-networking.org/en/home/index.html (Spybot Search & Destroy) This is usually the last on my list when "cleaning" my machine but is actually the only software that makes a difference, it is completely open source and free to install.

With cccleaner you should always back up the registry as when doing any reg edits. Use a guide for how to use it if you need. Works great for speeding up computers as it fixes alot of registry issues as well as removing unneeded temp files and the likes.

Cccleaner is one of the best out there for general maintenance. Malware bytes is the best free anti-malware software. Both of those should help somewhat!

Yeah both of these are A+ - I previously did not have these and have went through a few computers - this last one i built is perfect and should last with both these programs - they do a really good job and keeping the comp clean!
