I don't want to sound like a broken record but spend 15k developing a site to only then spend $100 on a spam link service and have it penalized for a year and counting.

If theres one thing in my entire life not only this business I could change it would be that and bang a certain chick I had chance to but did'nt step my game up.

Haha I did that once and learned a valuable lesson: You can usually bat again if you strike out, but they won't let you up to the plate again if you don't even swing the bat.

My stupidest mistake was turning on privacy from search engines in wordpress and then making a thread here asking WTF happened to my rankings.
Even if you fall on your face, you're still moving forward.

I think I may have just found the stupidist thing I've ever done this morning.

Site A used to make 5 figures a month - in the last 6 months SERPS have plummeted for it, but it has short lived recoveries and still gets fairly decent traffic, after investigating it isn't a penalty or panda - lost interest.

Site B used to make $1k a month if it was lucky, it was panda'd, definitely.

I have spent the last 6 months filling up any spare time obsessing over site B, ignoring Site A (panda is far more interesting) - then this morning on a general ramble around my logs I notice google has been heavily crawling site A for the last couple of weeks, stange I think, then I take a look at the 301's in the logs and realise there's a HUGE problem with the htaccess for site A. Sorted the problem in under an hour. Now I feel sick.

Mine would be not starting sooner - I bought a ton of domains back in 2005 and started making some websites in a really half arsed fashion and then lost interest. It was 5 years later when I picked up the projects again.

I sold a website for high $xx,xxx and in the process of transferring to new owner completely wiped out my entire server and all my backups, didn't have one stored locally at the time.

Spent the next 40 hours or so along with some help rebuilding the sites via google cache, wasn't fun.

Not retiring sooner. I'll be selling a $3+ million dollar affiliate business for $2 million in the next few years. Want a good deal save your money, I'm looking forward to going dark.
If you're going to bet US Sports online - I strongly suggest 5Dimes.com or Bookmaker.eu.

Some succeed because they are destined to, but most succeed because they are determined to.
