Default Play Now Button vs Banner

Does anyone think that there is a difference between using a play now button on bonus pages as oppose to just a banner?

Will one convert better than another?

This is another one of those things that you need to test out yourself. Try each one of different pages and see which one does a better job. What may work for me and my site, may not be what's best for you

I think that they are used for two slightly different things, so I wouldn't think of one or the other being the best way to get visitors to click through to a poker room website.

A button is just like a glorified text link directly to the poker room, and I am sure that many people will find this to be the most comfortable way to follow the path to where they want to go (the poker room), assuming they have made up their mind to visit the site.

I think a banner is best used for brand recognition or to highlight a certain promotion. I wouldn't use these as the sole method of linking to a poker room. I know that if I was looking to visit another website from one site, I would be looking for a humble text link or "click here" style button.

In conclusion, I think that you should definitely be using buttons (or even better, text links) to link to poker rooms. I would think of banners as an addition to the page to maybe spruce it up a little if it looks dull.

I like to use all three really. I use banners within the text of the page to help break things up and create brand recognition. I use buttons within tables or charts to keep them clean looking. And I use text links within the text to push people to the site.

I am a fan of using a small banner, not a 468 or a 728 and then also a Play Now button. The banner is great for a promotion and branding but more people will click on the Play Now button if they are truly interested in an offer (IMO).
Honestly, text links still work great as well.

Click here bottons seem to work very well, so the short answer is yes.
I assume you mean a banner og the article page in/above or under the article.

I think most people (definitely not all) completely ignore your standard ad banners. They have just been bombarded by them for years and have learned to focus on the content. That being said, they are useful for breaking up large blocks of text and some well designed banners can really tie a whole page together. They are not totally useless.

I agree 100% with ThePokerBank when it comes to the 'click now' type of buttons. They are pretty much a prettier version of a text link to your viewer and are not ignored.
