Who owns / runs Cake Poker

Spent the morning trying to discover the in's and out's of the Lock Poker buy-out of the Cake Network, but even though the purchase was well reported no-one has stated the real 'in's and out's' of the deal.

I'm particularly interested in who is actually running Cake Poker (not the network, looking at the list, apart from Intertops, I'm not likely to want to promote any of them any time soon so have very little interest in that).

Do Lock own and run Cake poker room now, or are they run by separate parties with separate financials?

Because they accept US players this is not something you're going to get a straight answer to. The initial Cake hasn't been in tact for many years. The second Cake (under same shell) which was part of the original (whether any changes between I don't know) was believed to have sold to the network to PokerListings. If you believe Jennifer Larson owns 100% of Lock Poker's bottom line please I have some good swamp land for sale; let's talk. So illegal gambling site #1 and illegal site #2 - how much are they connected? The official line will read the same 98.31% of the time. In this case I probably believe it. In any case though Cake Poker is not the same company of years past, but would speculate they are quite separate. True or not though that will be the official line most the time. Of course yeah there's always an owner or owners but how much do backers have a say? Regarding your original question: Are you FBI?

You need to be more specific with your descriptions. Lock and Cake also have casino software so yes they are illegal in the US but not very many other countries. You can't use a general term and label something as illegal when it doesn't apply to the vast majority of the world. As for all online poker sites they are not illegal in the US. Only the processing of deposits and withdrawals for US customers is considered illegal in the US.

Word on the street is that Lock bought the US facing part of the network.

It's unlawful not to kill under certain Sharia laws, but beside that - in this instance start tag US players, end tag FBI, and gambling site differentiated between free money play and gambling. Also can always start a debate pulling one sentence out of context.

If we want to discuss the minor debate: Their online casino operation is probably illegal in China, India, United States, Indonesia, Brazil, Pakistan, Nigeria, Iran, Thailand, South Africa, South Korea, North Korea, Iraq, Malaysia, Venezuela, Australia, Israel, Turkey to name some of the better known off the top of my head. Just the countries listed accounts for about 60% of the world's population. So "not very many other" seems a bit off. Illegal gambling site, though legal in a few smaller countries acting outside the norm.
