If you were going to start a poker blog network how would you go about promoting it?

Does anyone know any blog directories worth submitting to?

Would you use social bookmarking as a way to get traffic to your blog? If so which ones accept gambling stuff?

Any other things you might do?

It very much depends on what kind of content you have on the sites.

A respected poster on 2+2 would appeal to very different people than "some guy" who are trying to build a bankroll or a blog about poker bonuses.

I would say you should contact other bloggers and try to work your way into the poker blogosphere, once there I am sure you will find lots of links, resources, and beneficial contacts which will lead to some success. Anyone can submit to directories and swap links, it's the hard stuff that you will find to be the most rewarding.

You can also post useful and thought provoking comments on other poker blogs with a link back to your site. You will most likely not get much SEO benefit from it, but if your comments are good, people will click through to your site out of curiosity. Plus, the bloggers themselves will see who is making comments and may notice your site in the mix. Who knows, they may quote your site later.

Great point Mark, I have found that one of the best ways to get other to link to you or get other bloggers to learn about your site is by simply linking to them first. Plus, then down the road if you actually ask to be blogrolled or for an exchange they will more than likely remember that you linked to them a month back and be more willing to reciprocate.
