Default Can you beat these fees?

I have a player at FT who has accrued $1556 in fees this month...all from depositing. The guy is a good player for me so I'm happy in general, but $1556 in fee's???

Can anyone top this, or is this about as ridiculous as it gets?

    Somethingthat might help ....

My reporting that I get at PinnacleSports for sports punters shows complete disclosure on all financial fees - as they charge affiliates a share of costs. So I can see the amounts, the type of transfer and the charges by player and by month.

Based on this I see that payment gateways will charge something like $15-$30 a time, while credit cards can easily bill 2%-3% as fees.

FullTilt are much less forthcoming, and I've always suspected that they add something extra (an administration charge perhaps?) into those fees - but I have no proof of that.

However, at $30 at time you'll run up $1500 in 50 deposits - and I've seen players do that (after all they don't get stung for the fees - the poker room / affiliate does).

Or if it's Credit Card a deposit total of $75K would also incur around $1500 in fees.

Gooner, thanks for the info, very thoughtful post - I appreciate it. I know he doesn't deposit $30 at a time, he's a high stakes player. $30 x 50 doesn't even cover the cost of one of his cash game buy-ins, so I know he's deposited many thousands - but I doubt it's $75k too. Just a guess I would say he's made 20 deposits for $1000 each, or something to that effect, maybe 10 for $2000 or 30 for $700 etc...

I know he reloaded recently, so I don't think he's deposited anywhere near $75k. Also, he's a decent player who seems to lose...but very slowly.

    mmmm ....

As I said, the numbers that I gave you are the raw costs - and I've always suspected that they are higher at FullTilt - for whatever reason.

I just ran my FullTilt report for March and my 94 active players have generated a TOTAL of 1027.66 in player fees - so whatever the person is doing - it's at the extreme end of the spectrum.

My highest charge is only $142 and only two players have attracted $100+ in fees this month - both long term players acquired in 2006 / 2007. Lowest charge are 40 active players have zero fees this month.

I suspect that your player may be depositing then playing and withdrawing any balance at the end of the session - thus running up the fees simply through so many movements. But that's just speculation as FullTilt reporting is pretty light on detail.

Boviously frustrating for both you (and the program) to see so much revenue lost in charges - have you contacted your AM about it? They might shed some light on why the charges are so high?

Full Tilt should limit withdrawals to 3 per month - this may help.

    Also - I don't know why rooms don't add a tiered bonus...

    ie...

    - Deposit $50 get a 50% bonus
    - Deposit $51-100 get a 75% bonus
    - Deposit $101-$500 get a 100% bonus
    - Deposit $501+ get a 200% bonus

    Or something similar...

I sent them an email yesterday for some info on it. I hadn't thought about withdrawals since I think he's a slow loser...that may be it though.

I know a player who deposited 15k Euros and the fee was 600. You shouldnt be too unhappy about the guy, just make sure he doesnt cash out/deposit too often. But I do agree that the fees with FT suck big time.

No room has anything on Cake Poker, they charge 100% of everything back to affiliates.
