Suggestions - Adding Value To PAL & CAL

Over the past 6 months, PAL and now CAL have developed into amazing communities. What started out as a simple invite only forum so I could stay in contact with my friends after leaving PAP has turned into something I am very proud of.

I have put more hours into building this community and business than anything I have ever worked on. At the end of the day though, both these communities are successful because of the GREAT affiliates that choose to make PAL/CAL their home. For that I thank you guys!

One of the reasons I believe I have been successful throughout the years running forums in this industry is because I have always treated the community as "ours" and not "mine". I see myself as somewhat of an air traffic controller of this place. Much of what you see on PAL/CAL are direct results from suggestions made from those in the community.

So with PAL being almost 6 months old, I turn to you guys once again to ask a few questions, get your feedback, and entertain any suggestions. Don't worry, you can't hurt my feelings. So please share your honest feedback, both good and bad.

1. What is PAL/CAL doing well? What could we be doing better?

2. From a technical standpoint, are there any modifications or add-ons you would like me to have developed or added to the communities?

3. What can PAL/CAL do to help you make more money as an affiliate?

4. Affiliates for the most part don't follow 2nd tier links. Although I know many of you do support PAL partners. If you were me, what would you do to show additional value to the PAL partners.

5. And finally the last question. What should the next giveaway or contest be now that the NCAA brackets are done.

Fantasy poker for the WSOP would be cool. National spelling bee is also coming up next month and I think I've got a strong horse this year.

As you know, Im also a strong advocate of a PAL chat room. Maybe you could make it like the chat on blogtalk radio where it archives the chat for the day so you can scan back through it if you want.

CAL just hasn't built up the traffic and activity as much as I believe you can accomplish, so it needs some more focus placed on it somehow.

I also still think the red text/links on the page should be replaced with regular black text and links. I'm fine with the red color scheme for headings and all that, but the overload of red text I think is a bit much and off-putting.

Aside from those few negatives, I think everything else is coming along great. I still have to vote against the chat room that PTC would like to see implemented. But that topic has already been discussed in another thread, so I won't get back into it.

On a personal level I could really do with a mentor to be truthful

Maybe some high profile games at partners sites.

I find it kind of boring here at times, but maybe thats just because I have been coming to these forums for so many years. I think there need to be more things done to make this place more fun. For Question 4, contests.... do things for new affiliates that sign up to partners. Run contests where any affiliate can win based on performance. Por ejemplo, first affiliate to bring 5 depositing players from 5 different countries wins a trip to xxx, seo consulting from someone famous or a new computer setup. Make the prizes be worthwhile.

I love free resources and the info we get from fellow members here is absolutely awesome. Something i have wanted to do for a while but have little or no time is free resources for poker affiliates.

I'm talking things like screen shots and such for the poker rooms, a resouces section that we could add to and share our stuff would be pretty cool. I was going to have each poker room in a zip file containing a review, screen shots, banners and other stuff to give to others, oviously the review would only be for sub affiliates but you get the idea i guess.

If the generous members here keep on giving such as the new templates from JohnH and Kaus then somewhere to download all this stuff instantly would be good. (maybe access only after 50 posts)

One last thing please tighten up on the 30 posts needed to use the market place.

I'd personally like to see more PAL/CAL tournaments and maybe even a leaderboard setup. Things that spark "friendly" competition between the members here.
